Homecoming & Family Weekend 2013 - Affinity Reunions and Activities

Education majors are invited for a cookout Saturday, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., in the Education Tent on East Street. Visit with other education alumni, current students and faculty. Help us celebrate former Education Department directors JoAnn Schall, Warren Garner and Richard “Robi” Robison, and thank them for their influence on many lives. Enjoy all-American cookout fare for $11 per person; $5.50 ages 6-12; 5 and younger eat free. R.S.V.P.s are encouraged and preferred.

Accounting and Business majors will gather Saturday, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., in the Accounting and Business Tent on East Street for a reunion cookout. Connect with other alums and current students at this luncheon featuring all-American cookout food. Cost is $11 per person; $5.50 ages 6 to 12; 5 and younger eat free. Alumni and current students of one of the nation’s first environmental studies programs will celebrate the storied history at a reception at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, in Beauchamp Lounge, followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Hoff Room,
upper Jo Young Switzer Center (the union). Cost is $18 per adult; $9 ages 6 to 12; 5 and younger eat free. R.S.V.P.s are required.

Former The Oak Leaves editors, reporters, photographers and other staff members are invited to a mini-reunion Saturday. Please meet at 11 a.m. at the Registration Tent. Dust off your reporting skills by collaborating with fellow alumni reporters
on a story for a future The Oak Leaves. And current staff members will interview you about your memories of working on the campus newspaper. There is no cost, but please R.S.V.P.

Alumni of Color (AOC) will gather for a reunion Friday, Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m., at The Hotel Fort Wayne, 305 E. Washington Center Rd., Fort Wayne. Meet in Rum Runners lounge, where food and beverages are available for purchase. Make reservations to stay the night for a discounted rate of $95. There is no cost to
attend this gathering, but please R.S.V.P. On Saturday, join us at 1:30 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent by the football field to cheer on our Spartans! After the game, walk to the Intercultural Center and visit with current students before everyone makes their way home. Be part of an AOC tradition!

Former football players and coaches are invited to gather for a reunion in the tent on East Street after the football game. Enjoy live music and a buffet of BBQ ribs, bratwurst, a loaded baked potato bar, buttery sweet corn on the grill and
a variety of desserts. Cost is $15 for adults; $7.50 ages 6 to 12; 5 and younger eat free. Please register and pay in advance.

Stop by the baseball field for your Homecoming picture in front of the ROAD TRIP banner! Pose in the convertible with friends or family, or simply stand in front of the banner. Either way, grab some MU shirts and gear from our prop table, get your mustache on, and show your Spartan spirit!
