| The people in the Peace Studies Office bring the Kenapocomoco Coalition Newsnotes to you monthly during the academic year.. The purpose is to inform students, faculty, staff, and other interested folks of scheduled events and activities within the department and pass along other information that appears relevant. The things written in the newsletter do not necessarily reflect the thoughts, opinions, and beliefs of everyone in the Peace Studies office or Kenapocomoco Coalition. If you have something you would like to add to the newsletter, please contact Heidi Gross, the Peace Studies intern, head cook, and editor of the Kenapocomoco Newsnotes. E-mail: hggross@manchester.edu or call X5343. Thanks. |

Kenapocomoco Coalition needs a President. This position does not entail many responsibilities, and will bring you all kinds of fame and honor.
The Organizing for Peace Planning Committee is looking for a Manchester University representative to join them in visioning the upcoming O4P conference in California in the spring. The Organizing for Peace Conference is sponsored by On Earth Peace, an agency of the Church of the Brethren.
Please let Heidi know if you are interested in either of these exciting opportunities!
Anita Heiss is one of the Australian Aborigines who spoke on campus last month. She sent us a list of her books, along with information on how to purchase them. She also sent an Indigenous Arts Resource List, which would be invaluable if you are at all interested in indigenous issues. Let Heidi know if you would like a copy of that document.

Harper's Index from Harpers Magazine (October 2003):
From The Tonight Show with Jay Leno:
As you may have heard, the U.S. is putting together a constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? Think about it -- it was written by very smart people, it's served us well for over two hundred years, and besides, we're not using it anymore. --Jay Leno
