Summer Orientation 2012

We're excited that you'll be joining us this fall! Your Manchester College experience begins in June with Summer Orientation.

The Summer Orientation student schedule includes a welcome, photos for student ID cards, housing and health services information, residence hall tours, a visit to the Campus Store, meetings about your academic major, lunch, course registration, and an information fair.

Parents or guardians are encouraged to attend this event. Information from Student Financial Services and a "Partnering with Parents for Success" session are planned for parents while students are registering for classes. See a schedule for parents.

Dates and Reservations
All incoming first-year students are required to attend a Summer Orientation session.
Sessions are scheduled on the following Tuesdays in June: June 5, FULL June 12, June 19 and June 26. Please register online or contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-852-3648 to submit your RSVP. You will receive a confirmation letter before the event with arrival time and location.

Course Enrollment Materials - The Enrollment Guide
Please review the Enrollment Guide materials prior to attending Summer Orientation. The webpage address will be posted here in the near future. Hard copies will be available for your use during Orientation.

Placement Exams
It is very important that you review the Placement Exam Information. All students are required to take a mathematics exam. All placement exams are administered online, and students are required to complete the exams prior to Summer Orientation.

Gateway Access
You will need to access your MC Gateway account during Summer Orientation, so please make sure you can login to Gateway BEFORE your Summer Orientation session. Instructions with your username and initial password have been included in the pre-Orientation mailing. If you have any problems, e-mail helpdesk@manchester.edu.

Students with Disabilities
For students with disabilities, leaving high school to enter college brings brings changes in regard to educational rights and responsibilities, according to the law. Unlike high school, disclosure of disabilities is the responsibility of the student. In other words, you must let us know about a disability in order to receive reasonable accommodations or support services. Such disabilities include, but are not limited to, physical disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, learning disabilities, Asperger's, and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).

Students requesting accommodations or other support services are required to submit documentation to verify eligibility for protection under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
