11.3.07-MANCHESTER FALLS TO TRANSYLVANIA IN THE HCAC TOURNAMENT FINALS 2-1
Manchester's men's soccer team winded down the season on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to Transylvania in the HCAC Conference Tournament Finals.
Transylvania broke the scoreless halftime score with a pair of goals at the 54th and 71st minute of action. Manchester's Brian Woods scored his 10th goal of the year, tying a season high total with Parker Swason.
Jake Johnson recorded four saves for MC. The Spartans fall to 12-6-2 overall, and tie a school record in wins set back in 1995.
10.30.07-SPARTANS ADVANCE TO HCAC TOURNAMENT FINALS BY WAY OF SHOOTOUT
Manchester College's men's soccer team tied Rose-Hulman 0-0 after three overtime sessions on Tuesday in the semi-final game of the HCAC Conference Tournament. Manchester and Rose-Hulman were forced to a shootout following the second overtime session, with Manchester outscoring Rose 3-2.
Brian Huss, Chris Rowe and Tom Garrett each scored on the penalty kick shootout for MC, while Rose-Hulman's Trevor Miller and Brian Fulmer were able to slip their shots past MC goalkeeper Jake Johnson. Johnson recorded his fourth shutout of the season and had five saves in 110 minutes at the goalkeeper position.
Manchester (12-5-2) will travel to Transylvania (14-2-1) on Saturday for the HCAC Tournament finals starting at 1 p.m. Transylvania was a 2-1 double overtime winner over Hanover on Tuesday.
Manchester's women's soccer team will be in action Wednesday also at Rose-Hulman for a 2:30 p.m. start in the HCAC semi-finals.

 Under Head Coach David Good, the men's soccer team continues to excel. Coach Good's formula for success is proven, being named Conference Coach of the Year four times. Good was an All-American midfielder as a college player. His teams reached the NCAA Division III Final Four all four years of his college career and won one national championship.
- The men’s soccer team posted a 9-7-1 record last year, 3-4-1 in the HCAC.
- Junior Parker Swanson ranked second in the HCAC in points and goals.
- Current teammates Brian Woods and Chris Rowe are both former HCAC Freshman of the Year winners.
- Swanson, Woods and Rowe were all awarded All-Conference honors in 2006-07, while Aaron Cripe and Tom Garrett were named Second Team.
