Filing Your FAFSA
To determine your eligibility for financial aid, you must complete and submit the U.S. Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the most important financial aid document you will fill out. Be prepared to provide extensive and accurate information about your family's income and income taxes, assets, family size, etc.
To apply, follow these steps.
Step 1
GET A PIN: Before beginning the FAFSA process, you should visit www.pin.ed.gov to apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you filed a FAFSA last year, you will utilize the same PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can be reminded at www.pin.ed.gov. Your PIN allows you to sign your FAFSA electronically and to correct your processed FAFSA information online.
Step 2
COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION: Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your FAFSA. At this site you will find detailed information regarding required documents and information you will need to complete your FAFSA. Make sure to have your tax information with you.
Step 3
KNOW YOUR SCHOOL CODE: Manchester College's school code is 001820. Manchester College must be listed as a school choice to receive the results of your FAFSA.
Step 4
SUBMIT: Make sure you click the submit button or your FAFSA will not be complete. You will receive a confirmation page that you should print for your records.
