Federal Direct Loan Requirements

Complete your Federal Direct Loan requirements. The following steps are required to be completed before Manchester University will be able to receive your federal loan funds.

STUDENT:

• Step 1. Complete your online Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling session – First time student borrower.
  • Go to http://studentloans.gov
  • Sign in using your Federal Student Aid PIN
  • click - Complete Entrance Counseling
  • click - Complete Entrance Counseling (again)
    
    
• Step 2. E-Sign your Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) – First time student borrower.
  • Go to http://studentloans.gov
  • Sign in using your Federal Student Aid PIN
  • click – Complete Master Promissory Note
    
  • click - Subsidized/Unsubsidized

PARENT:

• Step 1. Apply for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan – Yearly application for all parent borrowers.
  • Go to http://studentloans.gov
  • Sign in using your parent Federal Student Aid PIN
  • click – Request a PLUS Loan
  • click - Parent PLUS
    
    
• Step 2. E-Sign your Federal Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) – First time parent borrower
  (After submitting the PLUS application you will receive an approval confirmation page. On this page you will be directed to complete your MPN, or you can complete at a later time by following the steps below.)
  • Go to http://studentloans.gov
  • Sign in using your parent Federal Student Aid PIN
  • click - Complete Master Promissory Note
  • click - Parent PLUS
