4.2.08 -MC NIPPED BY ADRIAN 5-4
Manchester's men's tennis team fell to Adrian 5-4 in non-conference action on Tuesday.  Winners for Manchester included Josh Walker at two singles, Craig Craun at five singles and Kyle Watson at six singles.  The duo of Walker and Jeremy Patterson were winners at two doubles. 

Manchester moves to 0-6 on the year, and returns to action Saturday at Anderson, with Mount St. Joseph also on the schedule. 

3.25.08 - SPARTANS FALL TO EARLHAM 5-4
Manchester's men's tennis team was edged by Earlham 5-4 in non-conference action on Wednesday. 

The Spartans jumped to a 2-1 advantage after doubles play as Josh Walker and Jeremy Patterson teammed up to win at two doubles, while Craig Craun and Kyle Watson were winners at three doubles.  MC got wins from Patterson at three singles and Craun at five singles. 

The Spartans drop to 0-5 on the year, and return to action Monday against Bluffton.

3.16.08 - MC DROPS TWO IN CONFERENCE OPENER
Manchester's men's tennis team fell to Transylvania 9-0 and Rose-Hulman 8-1 in league play Saturday from Transylvania University. 

Josh Walker of Manchester picked up a win at two singles in the Rose-Hulman match for the lone match point of the day for MC.

Manchester falls to 0-4 on the year, and returns to action next Tuesday at home against Bluffton.


3.13.08 - MANCHESTER FALLS TO TRI-STATE 6-3
Manchester's men's tennis team fell to Tri-State 6-3 on Thursday.  Winners for Manchester were Josh Walker at two singles, Walker and Jeremy Patterson at two doubles and Craig Craun and Kyle Watson at three doubles. 

Manchester drops to 0-2 on the year, and open up conference play on Saturday at Transylvania with Rose-Hulman.

3.9.08 - SPARTANS FALL IN SEASON OPENER TO ALMA 9-0
Manchester's men's tennis team fell to Alma College 9-0 in their season opener on Saturday. 

MC returns to action on Thursday as they host Tri-State at Manchester High School, then travel to Transylvania on Saturday for their conference opener.

12.06.07 CHRISTIANSEN TABBED AS NEW MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS COACH
Manchester College Athletic Director Rick Espeset has named North Manchester native Eric Christiansen as the new head coach for the men's and women's tennis program.

Christiansen has served as the boy's and girl's tennis coach at Manchester High School for the past 11 seasons, guiding the men to eight conference championships and a sectional title, and helping the women to three conference championships and one sectional title. He has spent the past five seasons as a boy's basketball varsity assistant coach at Manchester High School under MC grad Gary Goshert '73.

"I'm very excited and look forward to the new challenges and opportunities with this position," says Christiansen. "The women's tennis team has built a strong tradition with six straight conference titles and the men have raised their level of play and I look for good things to happen this season."

Christiansen currently serves as the sports editor for the North Manchester News-Journal.
4.18.07-TKACS WINS AT ONE SINGLES BUT MC FALLS TO ADRIAN 8-1
The men's tennis team fell to Adrian 8-1 in non-league play on Wednesday.  Andrew Tkacs was the lone winner for Manchester at one singles. 

The Spartans droop to 1-10 on the year, and travel to Bluffton on Saturday.

04.7.07-SPARTANS DROP TWO AGAINST HANOVER AND DEFIANCE
Manchester College's men's tennis team dropped a 6-0 decision to Hanover and a 7-2 match to Defiance on Saturday.  Winners for Manchester in the Defiance match were Josh Sollenberger at four singles and Aaron Foster at five singles. 

The Spartans return to action on Saturday versus Mount St. Joseph and Franklin.

03.28.07-SPARTANS PICK UP FIRST WIN OF SEASON OVER EARLHAM
The men's tennis team posted a 6-3 win over Earlham College in non-conference action on Tuesday.  Winners for Manchester were Andrew Tkacs and Joel Richard at one doubles, Jordan Rothrock and Josh Sollenberger at two doubles and Aaron Foster and Dustin Schutte at three doubles.

In singles action, Rothrock picked up a win at three singles, while Sollen at four singles and Foster at five singles also picked up wins. 

The men's tennis team (1-6, 0-2) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Bluffton to face Bluffton and Transylvania in conference action.

03.04.07-MANCHESTER DROPS TWO IN CONFERENCE OPENER
The Manchester College men's tennis team dropped a pair of conference matches to start the 2007 spring season.  Manchester fell to Rose-Hulman 5-0 in the opener, then lost to Anderson 5-1, with Manchester's win coming from number five singles Aaron Foster.

The Spartans fall to 0-2 on the year, 0-2 in the conference.  They return to action on Saturday as they travel to Alma to take on the Scots and Indiana Tech.

01.17.07-TENNIS GETS NEW INTERN COACH IN THOUVENOT
Olivier Thouvenot has been appointed the new tennis intern for the men's and women's tennis teams at Manchester College.  The Neuschateau, France native graduated from his hometown college of Nancy Henry Poincare with a degree in sports management.  He then came to the United States where he picked up another degree in business at Martin Methodist College (TN), where he was a two-year member of the men's tennis team. 

With the Redhawks he was ranked as high as 20th in the NAIA polls, and received Second Team All-American honors after finishing the season ranked 21st.  He was 10-5 overall in singles play, and was ranked 22nd in doubles action with a 12-4 record.  He helped MMC to their first NAIA Region XI championship match at number one singles and doubles.
