1.23.10 - BUCHER SETS SCHOOL RECORD, KIMMEL A PROVISIONAL QUALIFIER IN HIGH JUMP
Manchester's track and field teams started their season on Friday at the Rose-Hulman Indoor Invitational, with John Kimmel picking up where he left off last season and provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a height of 2.05 meters (6'8-3/4"). Senior Korey Bucher set a new school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.31. Bucher also placed first in the 55 meter dash.

Jessica Fauser too first place in the 55 meter dash, Other top place winners for Manchester included Louid Seal, second in the men's shot put, Casey Loshe's second place finish in the high jump and Jessi Bremer took second in the 800 meter run.

Third place finishes went to the women's 4x400 team of Bremer, Liz Curtis, Meredith Cors and Emma Weiler, Jennifer Beakas in the 3000 meter run, Dan Nave in the 800 meter run, Andy Williams in the one mile, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault and Jordan Redding in the long jump.

Manchester returns to action Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Taylor Invite.

5.23.09 - KIMMEL WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN HIGH JUMP
Manchester College junior John Kimmel won the Division III 2009 NCAA Track and Field title in the high jump on Saturday, clearing 2.12 meters (6'-11 1/2") on his second attempt, edging out Zach Shew of McMurry University, who successfully cleared 6'-10 1/4" (2.11 meters) to place second.

Kimmel qualified just a week ago at the North Central Last Chance meet, and headed into the NCAA Championships with the second best height of the year at 2.11 meters. Kimmel has qualified for three NCAA Championships, and recently placed 12th overall at this year's indoors nationals. He joins former Spartan track and field national champions David Glassburn, also in the high jump, Brenda Ramsey in the indoor and outdoor 5k, Amy Petersime in the 100 meter hurdles and wrestling's Darrell Carr.

Joining Kimmel in competition at the NCAA Championships were junior Korey Bucher and sophomore Kailey Honn. Bucher won his heat in Friday's preliminary to advance to Saturday's finals. He finished third overall, setting a school record for the fourth time this year with a time of 47.68. Honn went on to finish 12th overall out of 25 competitors. Both Kimmel and Bucher earn All-American honors and Manchester ended the event 14th in the nation under tenth year head coach Brian Cashdollar.

5.16.09 - KIMMEL HITS AUTOMATIC MARK IN HIGH JUMP AND BECOMES THIRD SPARTAN GOING TO NATIONALS
Junior John Kimmel cleared 2.11 meters in the high jump, hitting the automatic qualifying standard to become the third Manchester College student-athlete to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Division III National Championships starting Thursday, May 21.

Kimmel enters the NCAA Championshpis with the second best height in the nation at 6'11". He joins Kailey Honn, who will compete in the women's high jump and has the seventh best height this season nationally with a height of 5'5-3/4'' and Korey Bucher, who will compete in the men's 400 meter dash, and has the third best time in Division III with a time 47.75 seconds.

Bucher will compete in the preliminaries on Friday, with the finals on Saturday. The high jump competition will start on Saturday. For complete track and field information visit the NCAA Championship website.

5.9.09 - HONN QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS, BUCHER SETS NEW RECORD IN 400 METER
Manchester competed at the North Central last chance meet last Thursday and Friday and the Spartans qualified a third person for the meet as Kailey Honn cleared 1.67m in the high jump to qualify for nationals. Her mark currently ranks her seventh overall in the nation. She joins John Kimmel in the high jump and Korey Bucher in the 200 and 400 meters as provisional qualifiers.

Bucher broke the school record in the 400 meter dash for the third time this year, breaking his own record with his new time of 47.75. His time currently ranks him third in NCAA Division III times.


5.2.09 - BUCHER BREAKS OWN RECORD IN 400 AT PACESETTERS INVITE
Manchester College junior Korey Bucher broke his own 400 meter dash record set back on April 11 at the Pacesetters Invite hosted by Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday.

Bucher's time of 48.18 broke his time of 48.27 set at the Little State Invite. Bucher currently ranks sixth in the nation for the best posted time in Division III.

The Spartans return to action at the North Central Invite this Saturday.

4.29.09 - BUCHER, CASHDOLLAR NAMED CONFERENCE BEST
Manchester's Korey Bucher was selected as the HCAC's Most Outstanding Runner following Manchester's second place finish at the Hartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships last week. Head coach Brian Cashdollar was voted as HCAC Conference Coach of the Year after leading the women to their first conference championship since 1993.

Bucher, a native of Plymouth, Ind., was a two-time conference champion at the HCAC meet, winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.64 and the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.16. Along with his championship in the 200 meters, Bucher became a provisional qualifier for the 200 meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He has also provisionally qualified for the 400 meter dash.

Head coach Brian Cashdollar notched his third HCAC Coach of the Year award after being selected for the award following Manchester's women's track and field team winning the overall team standings at the conference meet. Manchester had individual champions in Emma Weiler in the high jump, Jessi Bremer in the 3000 meter steeplechase, and the women's 4x400 team of Rachel Murray, Stephanie Phillips, Bremer and Weiler.

Along with Bucher, Beau Bradtmiller was selected to the All-Conference team after winning the pole vault event for the men, while Phillips, Weiler, Bremer and Murray were named All-Conference. Honorable mention went to John Kimmel on the men's track team.

4.25.09 - MANCHESTER WOMEN WIN HCAC CONFERENCE TITLE, MEN PLACE SECOND

Manchester's women's track and field team edged Defiance by 1.5 points to claim the HCAC Conference team title and brought home three individual conference champions. The men's track and field squad placed second overall in the team standings and also brought home three individual conference championships.

On the women's side, Emma Weiler won the high jump, Jessi Bremer captured the 400 meter hurdles, and the women's 4x400 relay team—consisting of Bremer, Weiler, Rachel Murray and Steph Phillips— took first place. Second place awards went to Jessi Bremer in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Kailey Honn in the high jump, and Tiffany Alva in the 10,000 meter run. Third place finishes came from Casey Loshe in the high jump, Steph Phillips in the 800 meter and Nichole Swoverland in the 400 meter hurdles.

In the men's events, Beau Bradtmiller captured the conference title in the pole vault, and Korey Bucher won both the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes. Second place went to John Fagan in the pole vault, John Kimmel in the high jump, long jump and triple jump, Zach Bradley in the javelin and Kyle Pletcher in the 10,000 meter run. Third place awards went to Chris Rowe in the 400 meter and Kyle Pletcher in the 5,000 meter run.

Korey Bucher provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 meters at the meet, and previously set a provisional mark in the 400 meters at the Little State Invite. Conference Coach of the Year and outstanding track performers will be announced later this week by the HCAC office.

4.18.09 - MANCHESTER HOSTS SPARTAN CLASSIC; THREE PLACE FIRST IN EVENTS
Manchester played host to the 2009 Spartan Classic on Saturday, where three Spartans finished first in their events. Winners on the day for MC included Greg Lane in the 110 high hurdles, Beau Bradtmiller in the pole valut and Ryan Smith in the shot put.

In other men's results, second place finishes went to Korey Bucher in the 200, Chris Rowe in the 400 and John Kimmel in the high jump. Third place finishes went to Kyle Pletcher in the 3000 meter, Smith in the discus and Adam Miller in the javelin.

On the women's side, second place finishes went to Dana Cronin in the triple jump, Rachel Murray in the 400, Megan Miller in the 3000 meter, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles, and Lindsay Machamer in the shot put. Third place went to Tiffany Alva in the 3000, Nicole Swoverland in the 100 meter hurdles, Jessie Boursier in the 3000 meter steeplechase, the 4x400 relay team, Kaily Honn in the high jump, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault, Holly Ripley-Nifong in the long jump, and Hanna Reed in the triple jump.

4.11.09 - BUCHER NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFIER IN 400 METER, MEN 9TH, WOMEN 10TH AT LITTLE STATE
Manchester's track and field team took part in the 2009 Little State meet, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan with the women placing 10th overall and the men taking ninth.

Top place winners for Manchester include Korey Bucher, who provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a second place finish in the 400 meter dash and set a new school record in the process. He ran a 48.27 to meet the provisional standard. Kailey Honn took third place in the high jump, while fifth place finishes went to Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles and 3000 meter steeple chase, John Kimmel in the high jump and Beau Bradtmiller in the polve vault.

Manchester returns home Saturday for their second invitational of the year starting at 11 a.m.

4.4.09 - MANCHESTER HOSTS INVITE, EIGHT PLACE FIRST IN EVENTS
Manchester College played host to the 2009 Manchester Invite on Saturday, with eight Spartans and a 4x400 team placing first. The women placed second overall while the men took first in the team standings.

Individual winners for Manchester included Kailey Honn in the high jump, Korey Bucher in the 400, Nick Albright in the 800, Greg Lane in the 400 meter hurdles, Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault, Ryan Smith in the discus and John Kimmel in the high jump and triple jump. Kimmel's height of 6' 10" ranks him first among Division III athletes this season.

Second place honors went to Emma Weiler in the 800, Megan Miller in the 1500, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles, Casey Loshe in the high jump, Taylor Clifford in the pole vault, Holly Ripley-Nifong in the long jump, Dana Cronin in the triple jump, Lindsey Machamer in the shot put, Greg Lane in the 110 high hurdles, Zach Bradley in the 400 meter hurdles and Ryan Smith in the shot put.

Manchester takes part in the Little State Meet this coming Saturday.

3.28.09 - FIVE SPARTANS WIN AT HANOVER INVITE
The Manchester College track and field team kicked off the outdoor portion of their season Saturday at the Hanover Invitational, with the men and women each taking sixth place in the team standings.

Manchester had five individual championships, including Korey Bucher in the 400 with a time of 49.43, Jennifer Beakas in the 10,000 meter run in 40:29, Jessi Bremer in the 3,000 meter steeple chase in 12:26, John Kimmel in the high jump with a height of 6' 4" and John Fagan in the pole vault, with a height of 13' 5 1/4". Stephanie Phillips took second in the 800 meter run, while third place finishes went to Nick Albright in the 800 and Chris Rowe in the 400 meter run.

Manchester returns to action Saturday at the Manchester Invite.

3.14.09 - KIMMEL PLACES 11TH AT NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester College junior John Kimmel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Elmhurst) placed 11th overall at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, hosted by Rose-Hulman.

Kimmel cleared 6-6 3/4, matching the best height of the eighth place finisher, but based on missed jumps moved him to 11th place overall. This is Kimmel's second national championship appearance, including the Outdoor championships in 2008. For a complete list of the results visit the NCAA Championships website.

3.7.09 - THREE SET RECORDS AT DEPAUW INVITE, KIMMEL PROVISIONAL QUALIFIER FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester's track and field team set a pair of records at the DePauw Indoor Qualifier on Friday. Freshman Ryan Smith set a school record in the weight throw, while Kailey Honn and Casey Loshe tied for a new school record in the high jump.

Other first place finishes came from John Kimmel in the high jump, who moved into 8th in the national standings and is a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Beau Bradtmiller won the pole vault for MC. Smith took second place in the weight throw, while third place fnishes went to Stephanie Phillips in the 800 meter, Lindsey Machamer in the shot put, Korey Bucher in the 400, and Jarius Burt in the long jump and the triple jump.

2.28.09 - WOMEN TAKE FOURTH, MEN SIXTH AT ANDERSON INVITE
Manchester's track and field teams took part in the Anderson University Fred Wilt Tournament on Saturday with the women placing fourth out of ten teams and the men taking sixth out of 11 schools.

Top place winners for Manchester were Kailey Honn in the high jump with a height of 5' 1-3/4", John Kimmel tied for first in the men's high jump with a leap of 6' 3", Beau Bradtmiller won the pole vault at 15' 0". Ryan Smith took second in the shot put, Holly Ripley-Nifong was second in the 55 meter hurdles and long jump, while Jessi Bremer too second in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Casey Loshe took second in the high jump.

Manchester returns to action Friday at the DePauw University Qualifier.

2.21.09 - WOMEN SECOND, MEN THIRD AT HOOSIER-BUCKEYE MEET
Manchester's track and field squad took part in the Hooiser-Buckeye Meet hosted by Rose-Hulman on Saturday, where the women finished second out of seven teams and the men placed third overall.

Individual champions for Manchester came from John Kimmel in the high jump, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault, Korey Bucher in the 400 meter, Jennifer Beakas in the 5000 meter and the women 4x400 relay team consisting of Jessi Bremer, Jessica Boursier, Rachel Murray and Steph Phillips. Second place honors went to Ryan Smith in the weight throw, Lindsey Machamer in the shot put, Casey Loshe in the high jump, Jessi Bremer in the mile run and Steph Phillips in the 800 meter. Jasmyne Ahmad was third in the 55 meter dash.

Manchester travels to the Anderson Invite on Feb. 28.

2.7.09 - WOMEN PLACE FIRST, MEN THIRD AT ANDERSON INDOOR INVITE
Manchester's men's and women's indoor track and field teams took part in the 2009 Anderson University Indoor Invite on Saturday, with the women taking first place in the team standings while the men placed third.

Winners on the women's side included Emily Ballinger in the pole vault and the distance medley relay, Jessi Bremer in the 1000 meter and the MC 4x400 relay team. Second place finishes went to Jasmyne Ahmed in the 55 meter, Megan Miller in the 5000 meter, Emma Weiler in the mile, Kathleen Thayer in the 55 meter hurdles, Casy Loshe in the high jump and Lindsay Machamer in the shot put.

On the men's side, winners for MC included Zach Bradley in the 55 meter hurdles, Chris Rowe in the 400 meter and the 4x400 relay team and John Kimmel in the high jump. Second place awards went to Andy Williams in the mile, Ryan Smith in the weight throw and John Fagan in the pole vault.

Manchester returns to action Saturday, February 21 at Rose-Hulman.

1.24.09 - MANCHESTER COMPETES AT ROSE-HULMAN INVITE
Manchester College took away five individual champions from the Rose-Hulman Indoor Invite on Friday. In the women's events, Stephanie Phillips took first in the 400 meter dash, Megan Miller won the 3000 meter run and the women's 4x400 team of Phillips, Jessi Bremer, Emma Weiler and Megan Miller placed first. MC got second place finishes from Casey Loshe in the high jump, Jasmyne Ahmad in the 55 meter dash and Jennifer Beakas in the 3000 meter run.

In the men's events, Manchester got first places from John Kimmel in the high jump with a leap of 6'8" and ranks fourth in the nation and Chris Rowe in the 400 meter dash. Second place awards went to Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault, Andy Williams in the mile run and the men's 4x400 relay team of Rowe, Shawn Yoquelet, Dan Nave, Nick Albright.

Manchester returns to action at Anderson on February 7.

1.10.09 - SPARTAN WOMEN TAKE FIRST, MEN SECOND AT HUNTINGTON FROZEN FOREST INVITE

Manchester College's indoor track and field season got underway on Saturday as Manchester's women took first of three teams while the men took second out of three schools.

Winners for Manchester in the women's events were Jessica Burnell in the 55 meter dash, Jessi Bremer in the 800 meter, Megan Miller in the 1600 meter, Tiffany Alva in the 3200 meter, the MC 4x800 team of Emma Weiler, Megan Miller, Steph Phillips and Jessi Bremer), Emma Weiler in the high jump, and Kelsey Box in the pole vault.

In the men's division, MC took away event winners with John Kimmel in the high jump and Raine Young in the long jump.

The track and field team competes at Rose-Hulman on Friday, Jan. 23.



5.25.08 - KIMMEL PLACES 12th AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester College sophomore John Kimmel took 12th place in the high jump at the NCAA Division III National Championships held May 24-26 at the University of Wisconsin-OshKosh. 

Kimmel had the fourth best height at the event at 6'6", but hit his top-mark of the meet on his third jump, dropping him 12th place.  Two other participants took seventh place after a successful jump on their first attempt at 6'6". 

5.9.08 - KIMMEL A PROVISIONAL QUALIFIER IN HIGH JUMP
Manchester College's John Kimmel became a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Friday after hitting 2.03 meters (6' 8") in the high jump at the North Central Last Chance Meet. 

Kimmel sits in 14th place with his height, and set a personal best.  He has next weekend's North Central Invite to hit the automatic qualifying standard of 2.11 meters before the NCAA Championships on May 22-24.


4.26.08 - MANCHESTER WOMEN TAKE SECOND, MEN FIFTH AT HCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester's women's track and field team placed second behind Anderson in the team standings at the 2008 HCAC Conference Championships. 

Mancester had four individual place winners, Kailey Honn in the high jump, Rebecca Varnes in the long jump, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles and the women's 4x400 relay team of Bremer, Megan Miller, Varnes and Stephanie Phillips. 

Second place finished went to Becca Flanders in the 800 and 1500 meters, as well as Emil Ballinger in the pole vault. Bremer took third in the 100 meter hurdles while Phillips placed third in the 400 meters. 

Top place winners for the men were Jon Kimmel in the high jump with a third place finish and Brandon Dyben, who took second in the hammer throw. 

Manchester returns to action next weekend at the Butler Twilight meet.


4.19.08 - SPARTANS HOST CLASSIC INVITE, BREMER, KIMMELL AND BRADTMILLER WIN EVENTS
Manchester's track team hosted the second annual Spartan Classic Meet on Saturday.  No team scores were kept, but MC had several top three place winners on the day. 

Winners for MC were Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault, John Kimmel in the high jump and Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles.  Second place finishes went to Becca Flanders in the 1500, Andy Williams in the 3000 meter, Kailey Honn in the high jump and John Fagan in the pole vault.  MC had third place finishes from Rebecca Varnes in the 400 meter, Megan Miller in the 800 meter, Courtney Reinhart in the 3000 meter and Emily Ballinger in the pole vault.

Manchester returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the HCAC Championships, hosted by Anderson.

4.12.08 - MANCHESTER TAKES PART IN LITTLE STATE MEET
Manchester's women's track  team placed 17th out of 18 schools while the men took 18th out of 19 teams at the 2008 Little State meet, hosted by the University of Indianapolis in Saturday. 

Manchester had place winners from Beau Bradtmiller, fourth in the pole vault, Emily Ballinger, eighth in the pole vault, Becca Flanders, seventh in the 1500 meter run and Kailey Honn, fifth in the high jump. 

Manchester returns to action Saturday at home for the Spartan Classic.

4.5.08 - SPARTAN WOMEN TAKE FIRST, MEN SECOND AT HOME MANCHESTER INVITE
The Manchester College women's track team won their second team title of the season on Saturday at the Manchester College Invite.  Winners for Manchester included Stephanie Phillips in the 800 meter, Becca Flanders in the 1500 meter, Courtney Rinehart in the 5k, Abby Watkins in the 100 meter hurdles, Jessi Bremer in the 3000 meter steeplechase, the MC 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, Kailey Honn in the high jump and Emily Ballinger in the pole vault.

The men were one point shy of tying for first place, scoring 199 team points to Tri-State's 200, but had first place winners from Dan Nave in the 800 meter, Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault, Sam McFadden in the long jump, Brandon Dyben in the hammer and Josh Finch in the javelin. 

The Spartans return to action next Friday and Saturday at the Little State Invite.

3.29.08 - MC MEN AND WOMEN TAKE FIRST PLACE AT HANOVER INVITE
The Manchester College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the 2008 Hanover College Invitational on Saturday, with the women taking first out of seven teams and the men placing first out of eight teams. 

Manchester had four individual champions on the women's side, led by Becca Flanders in the 1500 meter, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault, Rebecca Varnes in the long jump and Stephanie Phillips in the 800 meter.  Second place finishers were Megan Miller in the 800 meter, Jennifer Beakas in the 5k, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter, Kailey Honn in the high jump and Lindsay Machamer in the shot put. Third place awards went to Jasmyne Ahmad in the 100 meter, Flanders in the 800, Bremer in the 100 meter, Katherine Pea in the 3k, Taylor Clifford in the pole vault, Madi Gregory in the javelin and Tasha Bryant in the hammer throw. 

The men had five individual champions, led by Brandon Dyben in the hammer, John Kimmel in the high jump, David Neal in the 400, and Beau Bradtmiller in the 110 high hurdles and pole vault.  Second place awards went to Korey Bucher in the 100, Dan Nave in the 800, James Kearney in the 1500, Kyle Pletcher in the 5k, David Neal in the 110 high hurdles, Zach Bradley in the 400 and Cole Jackson in the 3k.  Bucher took third in the 200 meters, as did Andrew Doub in the 3k, Kimel in the triple jump and Justin Barton in the discus and hammer. 

The Spartans return to action Saturday at the MC Invite.

3.14.08 - BUCHER COMPETES AT NCAA DIII CHAMPIONSHIPS

Manchester College sophomore Korey Bucher competed at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday resulting in a last place finish in the 400 meter dash.  Bucher final time was 50.82 seconds.  Eight of the 12 event competitors will go advance to Saturday's championship event.

3.7.08 - SPARTANS TAKE PART IN DEPAUW NATIONAL QUALIFIER MEET
Manchester College's track and field teams took part in the final qualifying meet before Indoor Nationals at DePauw University on Friday.  While no team scores were kept, Manchester had several place winners and two new school records set at the meet. 

In women's competition, Stephanie Phillips broke her own record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.14 and placed second overall.  Emily Ballinger took second in the pole vault and Rebecca Varnes took third in the long jump. 

Andy Williams set another school record, this time in the mile run with a time of 4:24.28 and finished third in the event.  Korey Bucher, who is scheduled to compete at the Indoor Nationals next weekend at Ohio Northern took first in the 400 meter with a time of 51 seconds flat.  Sam McFadden took first in the long jump.  Second place awards went to Zach Bradley in the long jump, Jon Kimmel in the high jump and Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault.  Brandon Dyben placed third in the shot put and weight throw for the Spartans.

3.1.08 - WOMEN 4TH, MEN 6TH AT ANDERSON INVITE; WILLIAMS SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD IN 5K
Manchester College's track and field team took to action Saturday at the Anderson University Fred Wilt Tournament with the women placing fourth out of six teams and the men taking sixth out of eight schools. Sophomore Andy Williams set a school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:22.10. 

Top place winners for the women were Rebecca Varnes in the long jump (15' 8.25") and Emily Ballinger in the pole vault (9' 6.25") as they both won their events.  Manchester got second place finishes from Stephanie Phillips in the 800 and Kelsey Box in the pole vault.  Third place finishes went to Becca Flanders in the 1000 meters, Lindsey Machamer in the weight throw and the distance medley team consisting of Megan Miller, Jessi Bremer, Flanders and Phillips. 

Beau Bradtmiller took first place in the men's pole vault with a height of 13' 11.75". Korey Bucher and Brandon Dyben took third in the 400 meter and weight throw, respectively. 

Manchester returns to action Friday night at the DePauw Indoor Invite with a 5 p.m. start.

2.16.08 - MEN TAKE THIRD, WOMEN FOURTH AT ROSE-HULMAN HOOSIER BUCKEYE MEET
Manchester's track and field team took part in the Rose-Hulman Hoosier Buckeye meet on Saturday with the men taking third and the women out of eight teams.  All eight schools are members of the HCAC Conference. 

On the men's side, Brandon Dybem won the wieght throw with a distance of 14.56 meters. Beau Bradtmiller won the pole vault with a height of 13' 5 1/4", and Korey Bucher took first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.80.  Other top place winners included Jon Kimmel in the high jump with a second place finish. 

In the women's events, Rebecca Varnes was the lone champion for MC, winning the long jump with a distance of 15' 6 1/4".  Second place finishes went to Jessi Bremer in the 55 meter hurdles, Stephanie Phillips in the 400 meters and Jennifer Beakes in the 5000 meter run.   Third place finishes went to Kelsey Box in the pole vault and Megan Miller in the 800 meter run. 

Manchester returns to action March 1 at the Anderson Invite. 

2.9.08 - MEN SECOND, WOMEN THIRD AT ANDERSON INVITE, BUCHER AND DYBEN SET SCHOOL RECORDS
The Manchester College track and field teams returned to indoor action Saturday as they took part in the Anderson Indoor Invite, with the men taking second place out eight schools and the women placing third out of seven teams. 

Manchester's women were led by Kelsey Morris' first place finish in the 1000 meter.  Stephanie Phillips took second in the 400 meter, as did Ashley Vance in the 1000 meter, Rebecca Varnes on the long jump, Becca Flanders in the mile and the women's 4x400 team.  Flanders also placed third in the 800 meter. 

On the men's side, Korey Bucher set a new school record for the second straight meet in the 400 meter, taking first place in a time of 49.39 seconds.  That makes him a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Indoor Championships held next month.  Brandon Dyben set a new school record in the weight throw with a distance of 15.29 and took second overall in the event.  Other place winners included Bucher's third place in the 200 meter, Andy Williams' first place in the mile and third place in the 800.  Jon Kimmel took first in the high jump while John Fagan took second in the pole vault. 

Manchester returns to action next Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Invite.

1.18.08 - WOMEN 2ND, MEN 5TH AT ROSE-HULMAN TRACK INVITE; BUCHER SETS MC RECORD IN 400 METER
Manchester's women's track and field team took second place overall out of five schools at the 2008 Rose-Hulman Indoor Invite on Friday, while the men took fifth out of six teams.

Top place finishers for MC included Jessi Bremer, who won the 55 meter hurdles and placed third in the 800 meter, Rebecca Varnes and her first place finish in the long jump, Emily Ballinger second in the pole vault and Stephanie Phillips in the 400 meter run. 

For the men, Korey Bucher won the 400 meter race, setting a new school record for indoor track and field with a time of 49.98. The previous record was set back in 2007 by Bruce Orr with a time of 51.81.  Andy Williams took second in the mile run, Beau Bradtmiller placed second in the pole vault and third in the 55 meter hurdles, while James Kearney took third in the 800 meter run.

1.12.08-MC COMPETES AT HUNTINGTON INDOOR MEET

Manchester College's indoor track and field season began Saturday as Manchester took part in the Huntington University Indoor Frozen Forest Invitational. 

Winners in the women's events were Jessi Bremer in the 800 meter (2:30), Becca Flanders in the 1600 meter (5:36) and Lindsey Machamer in the shot put (35'8") and weight throw (34'3").

In the men's events, winners for MC were Jermiah Jones in the 55 meter (6.6), Korey Bucher in the 400 meter (52.9), Andy Williams in the 1600 meter (4:39), Rick Morgan in the 55 meter hurdles (9.19), Tyler Hufnagle in the high jump (5'10"), Beau Bradtmiller in the pole vault (15'0") and Brandon Dyben in both the shot put (38'10") and the weight throw (44'11").

4.28.07-WOMEN'S TRACK TAKES SECOND, MEN FOURTH AT HCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Spartan track and field team traveled to Bluffton on Saturday for the HCAC Conference Championships. Manchester's women took second while the men took fourth place.

Manchester had three individual champions, Rebecca Varnes in the lone jump, Steph Knox in the 100 meter hurdles and Zach Dommer in the discus.

Others placing for Manchester included Becca Kane who was 2nd in the long jump, third in the triple jump and fourth in the 100 meter, Ashton Gipson third in the 400, Stephanie Phillips fourth in the 400, Becca Flanders 3rd in the 1500 and fourth in the 800, Taylor Clifford fourth in the pole vault, Lindsay Machamer thirdi n the hammer and shot put, and Michelle Basey fourth in the hammer. Knox also took third place in the pole vault.

In the men's events, Beau Bradtmiller took second in the pole vault and fourth in the 400 meter hurdles, Brandon Dyben took second in the hammer, Dommer took fourth in the hammer while Kyle Kline finished fourth in the 800 and Korey Bucher placed third in the 400 meters.

4.21.07-SPARTANS COMPETE AT MC CLASSIC
Manchester College's track team competed in their final tune up before the HCAC Conference meet this coming weekend as they hosted the Spartan Classic. No team scores were kept, but eight and five women took first place honors.

Placing first for the men were Zach Dommer in the discus, Chris Tope in the long jump and pole vault, Jon Kimmel in the high jump, Matt Donis in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Korey Bucher in the 200 and 400 meter dashes and Bruce Orr in the 100 meters.

Winners for the women included Ashton Gipson in the 400 meter, Becca Flanders in the 1500 and 5000 as well as Becca Kane in the long jump and javelin.

Bluffton University will play host to the HCAC Championships on Saturday, April 28.

4.14.07-FOUR SPARTANS PLACE AT LITTLE STATE MEET
Manchester's track and field teams took part in the 2007 Little State Track and Field Invite over the weekend with the men finishing 17th out of 20 schools and the women placing 14th out of 18 teams.

Manchester had four place winners on the day, led by Becca Kane's third place finish in the long jump with a distance of 17' 2-1/4". Korey Bucher placed fifth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 49.99. Also finishing fifth for Manchester was John Kimmell in the high jump with a leap of 6'2". Beau Bradmiller took eighth in the pole vault with a height of 13' 5-1/4", and Zach Dommer took eighth in the discus with a throw of 148' 5".

Manchester hosts the Spartan Classic on Saturday, April 21.
