Manchester College Placement for Chemistry
Before enrolling in chemistry classes at Manchester College, all students must take a placement test. Please note the following:
• The test is intended to place you at the proper level in the sequence of chemistrycourses. We want you to be challenged, but not overwhelmed; relaxed, but not bored. It is in your interest to be in the appropriate class.
• To assess your level most accurately, please do not use a textbook or any other outside aid while taking the test. Plan to take the test without interruption; you should be able to finish within 60 minutes. You are permitted to use a calculator and a periodic table. At the top of each page of questions there is a periodic table provided. If you have a printed periodic table you wish to use that is acceptable as well.
• The test is not perfect. If you feel that your placement is inaccurate, please talk to one of our chemistry faculty at the beginning of the semester. We will assess your chemistry ability again and assign you to another level if necessary.

Before you begin the placement examination, please provide the following information; it will help us determine your placement.
At the end of the exam you will be asked to enter your name and press 'finish' to submit your results.
