Campus Committees with Student Members


Academics Policies Committee
The Academic Policies Committee studies and formulates education policies, recommends changes in the curriculum and undergraduate degree requirements, and reviews the policies and practices of testing and grading. (Two students)

Athletic Committee
The Athletic Committee helps ensure that the intercollegiate athletics program is an integral part of the College’s educational mission and ensures balance and integration within the athletic program. (Two students: one female and one male athlete recommended by the athletic director)

Facilities Policies
The Facilities Policies Committee reviews and recommends policies related to the use of College facilities, including Cordier Auditorium, the Manchester College Union, PERC and Koinonia; reviews and recommends to the president policies for scheduling and use of facilities; recommends fee structures; and considers exceptions to general policies. (Two students: representatives from MAC and SGA)

Library Committee
The Library Committee recommends policies to the library director regarding the operation and improvement of the library, reviews budget allocations for books and materials, and advises in developing the College Archives. (One student)

Peace Studies Institute Committee
The Peace Studies Institute Committee develops and coordinates programs for the Peace Studies Institute, advises campus peace groups, and publishes information and research related to peace issues.(Three students; two are recommended by the Peace Studies Director)

Religious Life Committee
The Religious Life Committee encourages development of and respect for religious pluralism, encourages the development of meaningful relationships, advises the campus pastor on matters of religious life, and reviews the work and program of student religious organizations.(Four students; one which is the co-chair of CIB)

Student Life Committee
The Student Life Committee advises the vice president and dean of student development and the departments within student development; considers, reviews, and evaluates problems and existing programs related to the personal and educational welfare of students; assesses the campus climate in order to determine the need for programs and services; and recommends policies concerning student life.

Student Publications Committee
The Student Publications Committee formulates policies and provides general supervision for student media and publications; establishes policies for selecting editors, managers, and producers; and recommends approval of new student publications.

Teacher Education Committee
The Teacher Education Committee serves as a liaison between the College Faculty and external licensing and accrediting agencies; reviews teaching certification patterns; and recommends policy regarding the teacher education program. (Two students: one is an officer of SEA, both are education majors)

Technology Committee
The Technology Committee recommends policies for use of campus wide network and other technologies. (Two students for a two-year appointment)

Values, Ideas, and Arts
Values, Ideas, and Arts plans diverse enrichment programs including weekly convocation series, public programs, and classic film series, and formulates policies relevant to these programs. (Three students)
