The Middle Eel River Watershed Initiative, which is part of the MU Environmental Studies Program, is holding its Annual Meeting in conjunction with the National Conference on Cover Crops and Soil Health this year. The meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, February 18th, beginning with registration at 8:30am and concluding at 12:15pm.
We will be hosting a live video stream featuring Tom Vilsak, Secretary of Agriculture, speaking about cover crops and soil health followed by a farmer panel discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the latest news on cover crops and soil health issues and opportunities. The broadcast will examine the big picture of conservation at the national level and will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Wabash and Miami County NRCS District Conservationists focusing on the local level.
