I decided to attend MC because of its great accounting program. When I visited MC during high school everyone on campus was nice to us and very informative. Also, Coach Jarman has built a great wrestling program and I wanted to be a part of the Spartan Wrestling tradition. |

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
When I came to visit campus, I fell in love with it. The campus is beautiful and perfectly sized. I wanted to attend a small college where I could really connect with the students and professors. The people were kind and the atmosphere was very inviting. When I discovered their medical school acceptance rates and study abroad opportunities, I was hooked. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
My favorite thing about being at Manchester is that the small campus allows you to know more people. I have made so many friends here. You keep in touch with them better because the people you meet are seen several times everyday, not just in class. The professors not only know your name, but know you. They are social and enjoy talking with and getting to know their students along with offering any extra help they need with the courses. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to leave the country to study, at least in my first year! I recently completed a January session in Costa Rica studying Spanish for my minor. White water rafting and zip-lining through the rainforest were a few added bonuses. Staying with host families and being surrounded by the language and culture was an amazing and wonderful learning experience. For the 2009 January session I will be attending the Medical Practicum trip to Nicaragua where MC students will volunteer to work in health clinics. I am so excited to participate in this life-changing experience and I look forward to helping people while improving my Spanish. |

Why I decided

My favorite things
about Manchester: |
I like being a member of a small community. I came from a small community and it is nice to know people when you walk across campus. It is like having and extra large extended family away from home. |
| I never
expected: |
I traveled to Mexico during a January trip and stayed with a host family. This was an experience that I would not have otherwise had. |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
that diversity is an amazing thing.: Although diversity can be challenging, it changes how you view the world and how you act. Without diversity I would not be open minded about different cultures nor would I know so much about different cultures. Manchester College is the place to be if diversity is something you long for |

Play in the backup orchestra for an Amy Grant concert. The orchestra this year got to be her backup orchestra when she performed at the Honeywell Center. I got to play horn for it, and it was just an amazing just to know I was part of it. |

opportunity and experience. In the music department I have gotten a lot of different chances to be in ensembles and to be a leader in them that I may not have gotten anywhere else. My professors have always helped me to find activities that would help further me as a future musician and educator. |

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
Living most of my life in the Middle East in a middle of a war zone where bloodshed was end-less was one of the reasons that made me want to study in MC. My high school experience was-n't the best since it was during one of the most difficult moments between Palestinians and Is-raelis; we used sometimes to go for school for a week and the other week stay at house because it was dangerous to go to school. I love experiencing new cultures and new countries, and MC was a place I wanted to experience, it is a place faraway from my home, a place where you can see squirrels instead of tanks, a place where you can hear birds instead of bombings. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
In MC within a semester I made many friends from the United States and from different coun-tries in the world. I feel right now if I went to any place in the world there will be at least one person that I would know who is living there. MC Professors are amazing; they are your teachers and your friends. I wonder if you can meet with your professors if you had trouble in any course at a huge university! You would probably have to meet with an instructor instead of your professor because your professor might have a thousand student and he won’t be able to meet with every single student. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to last in MC college for more than one semester, I thought that I will be home sick and end up leaving back home. MC made me feel that I am still at home. |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
my friends. In Manchester College I made many friends, and those friends are going to be your real friends in future who will help you out through your life and you will be able to help them too. It is true you might still have friends from high school, but usually after high school your friends leave to different countries and states, and you won't be able to see them anymore, and so your friendship might loosen up, but in MC it is the place to build your future and long lasting friends.

Why I decided

Ever since I was a little girl it has been my dream to qualify as a doctor in the western world. The ability to help other human beings in a tangible and practical way is what continues to arouse my passion for medicine. As I have grown up, and developed a fluency in the English language and a greater knowledge of the ways of the world, I have realized that the US, the land of opportunity, offers the best facilities for those hoping to embark on a career in medicine. I come from a village in the West Bank, Palestine, where there are no women doctors. This is something which I want to change. It is my aim to return to my country once I have learned my trade, in order to provide help to those who need it, especially people in underprivileged and rural areas, as they are the ones suffering the most in the current economic climate in Palestine. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
MC is the college in which I can find professors who can help me anytime......who can encourage me when I feel home sick ......I am really a lucky person in life because my parents gave me the opportunity to study here in MC. |

Why I decided

I orginally came to MC for their Accounting and Business Program, but decided to stay after switching my major my sophomore yr bc of Cheerleading, the AMAZING friends I had met, and the great profs I had here. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
I love how much one on one attention I receive inside the classroom, and out. Most of my major classes have been less than 10 people, and it really helped the profs to focus on each student. |
| I never
expected: |
I never expected to be a college cheerleader. I never expected to have such close relationships with profs that I consider them also my friends. I never expected to get such a good education that I would get accepted into the accelerated advanced standing graduate program at IUPUI. |

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
I heard about Manchester from my high school history/geography teacher who is a Manchester graduate. When I came to Spartan Day, I really liked the campus. Once I was told how many students were here and how small the school was, I was sold. I wanted a smaller school because I came from a small high school; there were only 5 in my graduating class if that gives you any idea. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
The small number of students because it makes it a little easier to meet people and create new friendships. |
| I never
expected: |
I honestly never expected myself to stay. I had it set in my mind that going away to college was going to be horrible and that i would hate it. But I was wrong; I love it here! |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
A new me. I was never confortable with change; I was set in my ways. And I was always the shy one who was never comfortable meeting new people. Coming to Manchester helped me to break away from my old self and tear down the wall that I used to hide behind. I'm a whole different person now... |

Why I decided
to attend MC: |
I attended MC for many reasons...the small liberal arts college, friendly faces, and individualized classes where the professors know not only your name, face, and major, but also facts about you as a person as well. The entire atmosphere here is just great and I felt more at home here than any other place. |
My favorite things
about Manchester: |
My favorite thing about being an MC student is the challenge. College here is truly tough at times, but getting through those challenging classes and succeeding is so worth the effort and feeling of accomplishment afterwards. |
| I never
expected: |
I have never expected to have all the opportunities that I have here. I am going to Italy in January! More than that I have a chance to go to Tobago this summer with scholarship opportunities! There are so many awesome advantages to come to this school so make it happen if you want to do something in particular because this is the place and time to do it! |
At Manchester
College, I found: |
At MC I found my future! I finally feel confident that I have found what I am supposed to do with my life. I feel working with children is what my talent is and MC has helped me realize this. Friends, laughter, fun, learning, activities, events, dorm life...what more could you ask for! (Oh yah, schoolwork and studying is in there too!) |
