I never expected:
At Manchester College, I found:	Community. I found a community in the football team which accepts anyone. I would have never thought I would have a lot of friends at Manchester who are all different but make up one big community.

Why I decided to attend MC:	I decided to attend MC because it was a small liberal arts college. Also when I was visiting or on tours the staff and students were all very friendly and helpful. Plus the college was far enough away from home that I wouldn’t feel crowed, but its close enough to drive there and back if I need to.
My favorite things about Manchester:	My favorite thing about being an MC student is that everyone is familiar. Since the campus is smaller it is easy to meet a lot of people and not feel lost. After a few weeks people’s faces become recognizable and if you don’t know a persons name then you usually know their face.
I never expected:	Something that I never expected to do was to become clean and organized. At home my room was messy and I was very unorganized. At school when I am living with someone else I become more aware of how everything looks. Also since your room acts as both a bedroom and a living room for people to hang out in you don’t want it to be cluttered.
At Manchester College, I found:	At Manchester College, I found myself. Being here at MC has allowed me to become more independent. I have found out who I am as a person and what I want to do with my life. Little things are not as important as what I use to think because I know that they will just pass and it won’t effect who I am.

Why I decided to attend MC:	Three words: Proximity, Financial Aid, and Flexability. Manchester was my second choice. I wanted to go to a larger art school, but decided to come here instead because of what it offered me. It gave me the best financial aid, and unlike the other school, it gives me the opportunity to shape what I want. One of my goals is to be a graphic artist, if I went to the other school or to a technical school, I would only be taking classes that are designed toward that area. Here, I have the flexibility to become well rounded. I choose to what areas of art I want to specialize in instead of just painting, or drawing, or graphics, and etc. The professors here also allow me to take on my own projects and individual tasks and needs.
My favorite things about Manchester:	The close faculty, who listen to ideas, who encourage to create. The closeness of the whole campus. It's my second family.
I never expected:	Travel abroad for a Semester in France.

Why I decided to attend MC:	My decision to attend Manchester was made by my church family. They did not force me to come to this college but they did tell me wondrous things about their experiences while they were students at MC.
My favorite things about Manchester:	I enjoy the facilities that Manchester provides to us students. The science building has served as my home away from Garver for the past year. I also really appreciate the teachers that work here at Manchester. They have been able to provide me with a great source of knowledge when it is needed, wanted or required.

I never expected:	I never expected to study abroad while here and the grant opportunities in MC such as plowshares allowed me to do so.

Why I decided to attend MC:	I wanted to come to a small college, and I ended up getting a really good scholarship here. I also liked how welcome I felt when visited the college.

I never expected:	I never expected to change my major. I had my mind set on being a math teacher, but now I'm majoring in math and computer science. If I would have gone to another college, I might have never taken a computer programming class and realized how much I enjoy it.

My favorite things about Manchester:	I love the campus and how friendly everyone is. There is always something to do like chilling with friends. I like being able to get help from my professor and they know my name. That is amazing. I like getting hit in the head by acrons. just kidding.
I never expected:	I didnt expect to meet al my friends in one day. I didn't expect to get all dressed up for my first college football game.
At Manchester College, I found:	friends. I made so many new friends since i moved it. My orientation group were my first friends and i still hangout with them. I have made so many friends on the softball team. I thought that i would have trouble meeting and making new friends. Thanks to orientation and my orientation leader, i have made many!!!!!!!

Why I decided to attend MC:	The new science building, an outstanding pre-med program, amazing professors, a small college, and several clubs and organizations to get involved.
My favorite things about Manchester:	I can get anywhere I want to go within 7 minutes tops on campus. It's so nice not having to waste precious study time traveling across town just to get to a class on the other side of campus.
I never expected:	I never expected to be able to joke around with my professors and attend events with their involvement included.
At Manchester College, I found:	I found a welcoming environment. I chose this phrase because I feel that since MC is such a small campus everyone is much closer to each other. When I first got here all of the students were attempting to introduce themselves and get to know everyone. I came from a larger high school, so I naturally understood that you just can't know everyone. It was great though to see so many welcoming people and even welcoming professors once classes started. The professors genuinely care about the well being of their students.

Why I decided to attend MC:	During my campus visit everyone was so friendly and it just felt like home. We even ran into two girls at almost every spot on the tour and they joked around with my Aunt and I. I ate lunch here as well and the people that I ate with were informative, friendly, and funny! Also, my cousin went here in the 90s.
My favorite things about Manchester:	Making new friends, feeling independent from my parents
I never expected:	I joined groups such as Manchester Activities Council and Manchester Admissions Recruiting Corp., Hall Council and played basketball for two years, and I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters!
At Manchester College, I found:	I found myself: I have learned who I am by coming to Manchester. I learned just how strong I was and how much stress I could truly handle. I also proved to myself that I can be independent and on my own because before Manchester I had never been away from my family for more than a week at a time. I learned to trust myself and my decisions as well and that I didn't have to run to my parents for guidance like I thought I had to do before.

Why I decided to attend MC:	The science building is amazing and I knew it was the place I wanted to be studying in. The cross country team also was so much fun and being a member of their team was an experience I wanted to look forward to.
My favorite things about Manchester:	The staff is so kind and helpful, they want each student to be successful and reach the goals they have set for themselves. January term is also a great opportunity for every student, I will be traveling to Nicaragua this next year and can't wait!
I never expected:	: I stepped out of my comfort zone when it came to meeting new people, not only did the cross country team become family to me but I found a diverse group of friends from all over campus and in many different sports/majors. There is never a dull moment for me and always someone there when I'm going through a tough time.
At Manchester College, I found:	At Manchester College, I found faith. I quickly learned that if I did not place my life in the hands of the Lord then it would be difficult for me to reach the personal and career goals I have set for myself. By putting my trust and faith in Jesus Christ, He gave me the knowledge, strength, and friendships I needed to get through a successful first year at Manchester College.

Why I decided to attend MC:	I decided to attend MC because of the comfortable atmosphere created by the students, staff, and faculty that I met on my campus visits. After my visits I could really see myself living here. Besides the great environment, I'm playing volleyball, so that only helped my decision on coming here.
My favorite things about Manchester:	My favorite thing about being an MC student is the one-on-one interaction with professors. They are almost always available, and willing to help with anything, be it school work, or roommate problems!
I never expected:	I have found a way to manage time between classes, studying, friends, volleyball and clubs. Managing time has always been hard for me, but with new friends and profs here, they helped make it easy.
At Manchester College, I found:	Life. I sort of started over coming here, not knowing anyone, or what to expect living far from home, but I've made a life of it. I now have goals to achieve and great friends to help me along the way.

I never expected:	I never expected to make soooo many friends so quickly! As soon as I arrived on campus I had instant friends that will last for life.
At Manchester College, I found:	At Manchester, I found a community. The town and the campus are both extremely friendly. No one can come to campus and feel like a stranger. The students, professors, and people in town make it hard for any student to say no to MC.

Why I decided to attend MC:	I chose to come to manchester because it was fairly close to home yet far enough to get away. The people were also very nice when i came on a visitation day.
My favorite things about Manchester:	Being able to play intramurals and hanging out with my vairety of friends that i made on campus.
I never expected:	never expected to meet such a wide variety of people.
At Manchester College, I found:	I found many activities that I could find myself getting involved in. There are many collegiate sports to join as well as intramurals. But if you do not like sports there is always musicals and choir opportunities. There are also many clubs you can join that pertain to your major.
