Name: Stephani Voltz
Home Town: Logansport, IN
Major: English, General Business
Grad Year: 2012
Why I decided
to attend MC:

I attended Manchester, first for its size, and second for its distance from home. I am close to my family and I did not want to be too far away from them. I was worried about attending such a small school, but it is the best decision I have ever made. I have been able to contact all of my professors and received feedback from them in a timely manner. I love knowing that my success is not only important to me, but also important to them.

My favorite things
about Manchester:
My favorite thing about being an MC student is simply being able to enjoy the atmosphere of the school. Everyone is so nice and friendly. It is refreshing to be at a place where I feel welcomed.
I never expected:

I NEVER expected to participate in Schwalm Hall's mud slide. They put down a slip 'n slide and cover it with dish soap and spray very cold water on it. It was an exciting experience that I'm sure I'll never forget.

At Manchester
College, I found:
At Manchester College, I found happiness. I found friends that will be with me for a lifetime, and I found out who I truly am.
Name: Ha Vu
Home Town: Dong Anh, Ha Noi, Viet Nam
Major: Accounting and Finance
Grad Year: 2012
Why I decided
to attend MC:
When being an exchange student in OH, I met a lot of students who had graduated from here. They told me about all of their remarkable memories of MC. Later, I was in a high school field trip to MC. I felt in love with the smiles from the people I met, and the fresh air and cozy atmosphere from the campus. And I made my decision.
My favorite things
about Manchester:

I love the way people all know about others since it's a small community. I made a lot of friends this year. They have made me happy all the time. I feel so lucky and blessed to meet them.

I never expected:

I have met a lot of role models. They are teachers and friends. Some of them gave me hope and motivation to make myself a better person in life as they are.

At Manchester
College, I found:
At Manchester, I found it possible to find it eager to face challenges, to think for others beside yourself, to make yourself a better person.

Why I decided
to attend MC:
I had heard great things from friends about MC and learned that it was affiliated with the church of the Brethren as well as that they had a football team so that I could continue managing football.
My favorite things

I love how close I am to so many different kinds of people. I would never had had that if I would commute.
I never expected: Definitely visit Hawaii. It was simply incredible and I want to go back.

Name: Kyle Watson
Home Town: Warsaw, IN
Major: Chemistry
Grad Year: 2010
Why I decided
to attend MC:
I came the fall of my Junior year and it just felt right. When I came later on in my search, I felt like I was already going to be a big part of campus before my time here had even begun.
My favorite things
about Manchester:

Favorite thing: I love the fact that the faculty, staff, and students are so friendly. My eyes have been opened since coming to Manchester because of the vast array of diversity.

I never expected: I never expected to do undergraduate research. My first year, I did a population study of Black-capped chickadees for Biology and then presented it at the Dean's Symposium. Something I would have never done at a larger school. I also received an internship this past summer working as a research assistant in the Physics department. It is something I would not have been able to do without the preparation I received from my classes.
At Manchester
College, I found:
a home away from home. I love it here! It's funny because I go home and get college sick. I have made amazing friendships which will stay with me throughout my life!
Name: Melissa Webb
Home Town: Noblesville, IN
Major: Psychology and Spanish
Grad Year: 2009
Why I decided
to attend MC:
The first time I visited the campus as a prospective student I felt comfortable here.  The campus is beautiful and the people are great.  I loved that my admissions counselor remembered who I was and specific things about me.  I just felt like this could be home.
My favorite things
about Manchester:
I love the small class sizes, the individual attention from the professors, the community in the residence halls, and the overall beautiful campus.  I love how many opportunities I have been presented with since arriving at Manchester.  The staff here is really interested in helping you to learn and grow in any way possible.  If I hadn't come here to Manchester, I would not have lived in a different state all summer with the Pathways Summer Service Program, I wouldn't be going to France in January, or studying in Barcelona all of next year.  Manchester seems to bring the best out in me!
I never expected: I've decided to move further than an hour and a half away from home.  I've discovered who I am and who I want to be.  I lived in a different state all summer working alongside adults with mental illnesses.  I became an officer of a club and have put on a lot of different activities for that club.  I stretched myself and have done more here in just over a year than I did in four years of high school!
At Manchester
College, I found:
I found myself. Since I have been here, I have realized who I am.  I have found my best friends in the entire world, people who will probably be my friends for the rest of my life.  I have found who and what I want to be.  Manchester has opened up so many doors for me and allowed me to take advantage of many opportunities to find myself.

Name: Maggie Winey
Home Town: Mishawaka, IN
Major: Accounting
Grad Year:

2010

Why I decided
to attend MC:
Well, actually my dad started college at Manchester back in I think 1969.  He has always said wonderful things about this place.  My mom used to always give him a hard time about not pressuring me to go to Manchester; she said that where I go to college should be my own choice.  So I decided I'd visit Manchester just once to appease my dad.  I came here and I just knew it was the place for me--it felt right--it felt like home...
My favorite things
about Manchester:
That everyone here is so nice, and so openminded.  I love that people will almost always hold doors open for you, or just do some little common courtesy that people just don't seem to do anymore.
I never expected: Considering I haven't been here too long yet, I haven't done really anything that I didn't expect to do...maybe take another chemistry class.
At Manchester
College, I found:
joy. High school was nothing like I expected it to be, in a bad way, and I couldn't wait to graduate. I can already tell that college will be nothing like that, and it will be incredibly hard to leave Manchester come spring of 2010.

I never expected: I never expected to be involved in so many things such as organizations and being a SOL. It is amazing. I also am planning on studying abroad in India and I cannot wait for that experience to arrive.
At Manchester
College, I found:
At Manchester College I found people who care. There are so many people that care about you on campus. The professors care, the people in the success center, all the great friends you meet, your advisor, and so many more people. It feels like everyone becomes family.

Grad Year: 2012
Why I decided
to attend MC:

I chose Manchester due to the just right campus size. It's not too big and it's not too small. It's "just right." Also the campus is so warm and friendly.

My favorite things
about Manchester:
My favorite thing about being a Manchester student is the teachers and the overall friendliness of the campus. Everyone knows everyone and it's just a great place to meet people and build life-long friendships.
I never expected:

I never expected to continue to play two of my favorite sports in college. I am a member of the Football team and I also am a part of the Indoor/Outdoor Track team.

At Manchester
College, I found:

At Manchester, I found friendship. I have a great group of friends and everyone here is really hospitable and easy to get along with and easy to get to know. Back home I was a 5-sport athlete in a school of less than 500 so I knew everyone and wasn't really able to get to know anyone. Here I feel I have had an opportunity to build life-long friendships.
