Strike up the bands – all of them
for a great family party
Sept. 16 on the mall
Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and join Manchester College and the
community alcohol/drug/tobacco abuse council for what has become a
popular September party: Battle of the Bands III. At least 10 bands will
compete for the crowd’s favor on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16 on the
mall of Manchester College.
The music is free at this great gathering without booze, drugs, or
vulgar lyrics. The party starts at 11:30 a.m., and continues until about
6 p.m., sponsored by AACTION (Wabash County Action against Alcohol,
Controlled substances and Tobacco in Our Neighborhoods).
Bands will compete for cash prizes, with first place paying $500. Door
prizes and a caricature artist will add to the audience fun. The
caricatures are free for students with I.D.; others pay $5. The rain
site is Cordier Auditorium
Wabash County AACTION is the local coordinating council for the
Governor’s Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. The council’s mission is
to identify the county’s needs with a comprehensive plan.
