College’s A Cappella Choir
gets physical on its fund-raising
road to Carnegie Hall
Families with children of all ages are invited to a “Carnival for
Carnegie” to help Manchester College’s A Cappella Choir raise funds for
its spring 2007 performance in one of the world’s premier concert
venues.
The Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30 carnival will set up on the infield of
the track, during Homecoming. Participants can dunk a professor, and try
out the moonwalk, Velcro wall, slip slide, obstacle course, bungee run
and lots more, said senior Robert A. Bucher of North Manchester,
president of the 80-member choir.
The community is invited to share in the fun with students, alumni and
neighbors.
The choir, and choir alumni, will travel to the stage of Carnegie Hall
in New York City for a Saturday, May 26 performance, conducted by
Manchester choir director, Dr. Debra J. Lynn.
MC students must raise funds for their trip, lodging and performance.
Participating choir alumni will pay their own way.
Carnival for Carnegie run from noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 30. Tickets, in
50-cent increments, are available at the gate.
