A Cappella Choir to perform
for Warsaw’s Rodeheaver Series
The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts will present the A
Cappella Choir of Manchester College in concert at the First United
Methodist Church of Warsaw at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.
The concert is free. The church is in downtown Warsaw, at 179 South
Indiana St.
The A Cappella Choir is an auditioned ensemble of more than 50 students
of a variety of majors, including music, peace studies, education, the
sciences, accounting, athletic training, history, religion and
communication.
Under the baton of Dr. Debra Lynn, associate professor of music, the
repertoire of accompanied and unaccompanied choral literature spans all
style periods, including Gregorian chant, opera choruses and folk song
arrangements.
The choir and choir alumni will perform in residence at Carnegie Hall
this May – an encore of their spring 2001 visit to the acclaimed New
York City concert venue. The A Cappella Choir also has toured Italy,
performing at the Vatican, St. Mark's Basilica and St. Francis of
Assisi.
The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts was established in 1990 to
support and foster performing arts and artists in a manner that brings
glory to God. The Series has sponsored more than 55 concerts, recitals
and theatrical presentations.
