Big band music, ’70s jazz on deck for
April 29 Jazz Ensemble Concert
Big band dance music of the 1920s through 1940s, seasoned with a little
’70s jazz, will have the Wine Recital Hall audience bouncing in their
seats Friday night, April 29. The Jazz Ensemble Concert on the
Manchester College campus starts at 7:30 p.m., directed by TJ Faur,
adjunct faculty member. Admission is $3, paid at the door.
The musicians will concentrate on swing, with solos for all nine
musicians. The performers are:
Alto Sax: sophomore Abby L. Harper of Grimes, Iowa and first-year
student Aimee N. Gerdes of Mishawaka, Ind.
Tenor Sax: sophomore Adam M. Pyle of Huntington
Baritone Sax: first-year student Jon L. Largent of Muncie, Ind.
Trumpet: first-year student Alicia G. Smith of Akron, Ind. and
sophomore Carrie B. Fry-Miller of Fort Wayne
Bass: first-year student Michael B. Holler of South Whitley, Ind.
Drums: junior M. Rob Dymond of Chelsea, Mich.
Piano: first-year student Tyler C. Houlihan of Fort Wayne, Ind.
