Manchester College
plans welcome
event for new head
football coach
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (Feb. 23, 2004) - The
community is invited to a reception for Manchester College's new head
football coach, W. Shannon Griffith. The welcome will be held 3:30 to 5
p.m. on Wednesday, March 3 in the Spartan Room and upper level of the
Physical Education and Recreation Center (PERC) on campus.
"This represents an excellent opportunity to meet
informally with the new football coach, to catch a sense of the
excitement that he brings to Manchester College," said Tom Jarman,
Manchester director of athletics.
Griffith has 13 years of college football coaching
experience at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels (at Ball State
University and Northwood University in Michigan). He was an Indiana high
school All-State/All-Conference quarterback (Northrop High School in
Fort Wayne) and a member of a Ball State Mid-American Conference
Championship team.
Griffith replaces Dave Harms, who now is athletic
director for Manchester High School.
Manchester College, a NCAA Division III team, is a
member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. |
