College
offers free concert
of small
ensembles on Friday, April 2
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester College will
present a small ensemble concert on Friday, April 2, with music ranging
from the classical to swing. Three ensembles of students, faculty and
staff members and community residents will perform.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall
of Otho Winger Memorial Hall on campus. Admission is free.
A duet of junior Amy L. Eager of Harlan, Ind., on
the bassoon and sophomore Sarah A. Reed of Mishawaka, Ind., on the cello
will perform music from the Baroque and Classical periods.
A trumpet trio of senior Andrew Kauffman of
Nappanee, Ind.; North Manchester Community Band conductor Reggie Smith;
and Assistant Professor R. Scott Tomlison will play traditional music as
well as swing, including The Entertainer by Scott Joplin.
A clarinet quartet of Associate Professor Robert G.
Jones; sophomore Jennifer E. Hann of Peru, Ind.; MC Registrar Lila D.
Hammer; and Professor Mark W. Huntington will perform Mozart and other
classical music. |
