Choirs offer April 29 concert
at Manchester College
Manchester College’s Department of Music presents “Broadway
Lights” on Sunday, April 29,
featuring its all-women Cantabile choir and the Chamber singers. The
music begins at 4:30 p.m. in Wine Recital Hall.
Tickets are $3; reservations are not necessary.
“The variety of songs performed from different musicals is sure
to be enjoyable whether you are a Broadway fan or not,” said Danielle
Moeller, a junior from New Haven, Ind., and a second-year member of
Chamber Singers. Pianist Michael Good, a 2003 graduate of the College,
will accompany the choirs.
Cantabile,
conducted by Alan Chambers, will perform music from
Annie Get Your Gun,
Wicked,
Mary Poppins,
Funny Girl and
Rent. The Chamber Singers,
conducted by Debra Lynn, will select from
Fiddler on the Roof,
The Tall Kentuckian and
West Side Story as well as
music by Pierre Passereau, Claude Debusy, Samuel Barber, Z. Randall
Stroope, John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
