College’s
free Sundae in the Park
joins
North Manchester’s
Saturday,
May 6 park celebrations
Manchester College’s traditional ensemble of
ice cream and music – A Sundae in the Park – will top off a celebration
of North Manchester’s parks and new playground equipment on Saturday,
May 6.
The community treat from the College begins
at 2 p.m. in Warvel Park. It’s all free, and no reservations are
necessary. Guests may want to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Under the direction of Suzanne B. Gindin,
assistant professor of music, the concert will include Second Suite
in E-flat by British composer Gustav Holst, music from the 2004
movie The Incredibles, and the popular inspirational song
You Raise me Up by Rolf Lǿvland of Secret Garden
fame. Mozart and Beethoven also are on the program.
