Manchester College Symphonic Band
to present masterworks on April 11
The
Manchester College Symphonic Band will present “A
Concert of Masterworks” at
7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.
The 30-member band, at the baton of Suzanne Gindin, will perform in
Cordier Auditorium on the North Manchester campus. The concert is free;
reservations are not necessary.
The program includes Elsa’s
Procession to the Cathedral by Richard Wagner,
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good
Night by Elliot Del Borgo and
Cajun Folk Songs by Frank Ticheli.
Other pieces are Overture to
Candide by Leonard Bernstein,
First Suite in E-flat by Gustav Holst,
Lincolnshire Posy by Percy
Graninger, Panis Angelicus by
Cesar Franck and Armenian Dances,
Part 1 by Alfred Reed.
