Manchester College joins Questa Foundation
in loan forgiveness for Allen County students
Allen County students who remain in northeast Indiana to work after graduation may qualify for up to $15,000 toward their Manchester College education. The College is partnering with Questa Foundation of Education to help retain high-quality students in the community.
Under the agreement, up to 75 percent of Questa Foundation loans to Allen County students would be forgiven, if those students graduate with at least a 2.75 GPA and live and work in northeast Indiana for at least five years after receiving their Manchester College diploma.
Questa Scholars – chosen for their academic success and financial need – may borrow up to $5,000 per year for four years, for a total of $20,000. At graduation, 25 percent of the total loan is forgiven. After the Manchester graduate spends five years in the 11-county northeast Indiana workforce, Questa and Manchester College each will forgive another 25 percent of the loan.
This year, seven Questa Scholars attend Manchester. “This is a great opportunity to help local high school graduates attend college and be financially responsible,” said senior admissions counselor Melissa Vrable, who helps Allen County and other northeast Indiana students find their place at Manchester. “The College also shows its commitment to help students be financially conscious.”
