As the first female president of Manchester, Jo Young Switzer serves the University with ability and conviction. Her distinguished career at Manchester – from student to the University's 14th chief executive, sets a standard for excellence. Highly regarded for her personal warmth, sound judgment and exemplary character, President Switzer is a positive example for every student. To honor her contributions to higher education, the Jo Young Switzer Fund creates opportunities for growth within the Manchester University community.
The Jo Young Switzer Fund honors Manchester's president and her commitment to the University in time, talent and treasure. It supports a number of her specific interests:

Enhancement of our understanding of women in higher education
Beauty on campus
Each year, President Switzer will decide how the money in this discretionary fund will be used. At her retirement, the fund will be exhausted at her direction.
