High school administrator, alumna leads
Manchester University alumni affairs
A Manchester University graduate and former high school administrator with much passion for her alma mater is the next executive director of alumni relations. Jennifer Shepherd of Warsaw, who has served as principal and assistant principal at Greencastle, Warsaw and Rochester high schools, began in her new role March 11, said MU President Jo Young Switzer.
Shepherd brings strong skills in communication, project management, problem-solving, empowerment and motivation to her new role as alumni director.
“I am prepared to travel and promote Manchester University,” says Shepherd, who also has taught drama and speech. “My own experiences at Manchester were extremely positive. That may be my strongest asset, passion for the Manchester experience.”
“I am excited about Jennifer joining Manchester. Her professional accomplishments and Manchester connection make her an ideal selection,” said Kevin Hochstedler, president of the MU Alumni Board.
Shepherd succeeds alumnus Dave Haist, who donated his time to transition Manchester from the 21-year directorship of alumnus Gary Montel to the new full-time director of the 15,500-alumni office.
She holds a master’s degree in higher education administration and student personnel from Kent State University and an Indiana license in high school administration and supervision. Jennifer Mitchell Shepherd is a 1984 Manchester graduate, with a major in secondary education – speech.
