Melissa Scott '99 of South Bend is in her fifth year as a fifth-grade teacher at Holy Cross Grade School in South Bend. She also is in her fourth year as Holy Cross varsity softball coach; and has coached basketball at the school.

She was 2002 Young Careerist for the Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Women. She represented Indiana at BPW's national convention in New Orleans in July 2002. Smith is president of her local BPW, assistant district director and sits on the Indiana State BPW Board. In October 2002, she earned her Certificate of Fund Raising Management from Indiana University Fund Raising School in Indianapolis.

Patrick Violette '99 of Nashville, Tenn., is an assistant athletic trainer for Vanderbilt University. He is working with the football and women's tennis teams.

He will begin graduate school this spring in educational supervision at Georgia College and State University. His wife, Rachel Powell '98 , is director of recruitment in the office of admissions at Wesleyan College . In spring 2002, she earned her master of arts degree in college student personel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio .
