Donor Stories

With the fund raising for
the Holl-Kintner Center project now in full swing, it is interesting to
note the wide variety of stories behind some recent gifts. What all
these generous people have in common is an understanding of the
importance of this project.
-
The six academic departments that will be housed here have a
combined 51 percent of MC students majoring in their programs.
-
Shifting these programs
to Holl-Kintner will allow the College to close off some very energy
inefficient space in other structures.
-
In this case,
retrofitting is far more cost efficient than new construction.
Some recent gifts include:
-
A six-figure gift
from an anonymous couple who are honoring her parents. They will be
honored for their many years of service to their church through a
dedicated classroom in the Religion and Philosophy area on the second
floor. The donors’ names will not be posted at their request.
-
A generous gift from
one of the College’s trustees that will allow naming of two rooms in
the Economics area on the ground floor. As an alumnus with an Economics major, he sees
clearly how the College will benefit from this project’s completion.
-
A gift from the spouse of a deceased MC staff member, naming an
Economics office for her husband. She wants current students to see
his name and know that he had a meaningful impact on this place and
the students who passed through.
Regardless of the motivation
or the size of the gift, Manchester College is grateful for all
gifts. Completing the funding for the Holl-Kintner Center project will
have an impact for many decades to come.
Naming rights for various
parts of this project are available. The Office of College Advancement
staff will be happy to answer any questions. |
