Manchester stalwart as a “Best” in Midwest,

and a Great Value, say college guides

Manchester University is a 2013 “Best College” in the Midwest, say the leading guides for college-bound students. It’s a familiar refrain: The latest ranking marks the 19th consecutive year Manchester has appeared in the America’s Best Colleges Guide of U.S. News & World Report.

Again, Manchester is ranked 4th in the magazine’s “Great Schools at Great Prices.” The Best Value ranking reflects Manchester’s academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of need-based aid.

“The higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal,” reported U.S. News & World Report, adding it “considers the most significant values to be among colleges that are above average academically.”

Manchester also is among 153 Midwest institutions highly recommended by PrincetonReview.com. A total of 377 colleges and universities nationwide achieved the 2013 “Best Colleges” ranking, in regional lists on the popular online college guide.

“We are pleased that college guides recommend Manchester to students year after year,” said Dave McFadden '82, executive vice president. “This year, the University also has received high praise and rankings in college guides and education media for its culture of volunteerism and service, and as an outstanding work place. We appreciate the spotlight.”

Manchester’s commitment to academics played a special role in its “Best College” ranking, reports The Princeton Review.

Now, even more academic opportunities await students on the North Manchester campus, home to the undergraduate program. Students this fall found a brand-new learning center on the mall, filled with classrooms, laboratories and smart technology. The Academic Center faces the 7-year old Science Center, equally well-equipped for learning in the classroom, laboratory, small groups and side-by-side with faculty mentors.

Manchester University offers more than 55 areas of undergraduate study on its North Manchester campus, graduate programs in education and athletic training, and a professional doctorate in pharmacy on its Fort Wayne campus.
