The Office of Career Services (OCS) offers a variety of services for faculty and staff at Manchester College. Confidentially is first and foremost as we assist any faculty or staff member needing to update their resume/vitae or needing to fine tune their job searching skills. There is never a fee charged to faculty or staff of Manchester College for usage of the office services or resources. Here's how we can help:

As you know, we also offer a wide variety of comprehensive services for our students, alumni, and recruiting employers. If you are not sure what these are, please take a look. We would like you to be a referral on our behalf of our office and our students. Thank you.

The Office of Career Services is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST), Monday through Friday, year round. For discretionary purposes, faculty and staff can also arrange special appointments with OCS career staff during evenings or weekends.

Don’t Cancel Class! (Or how about "create a class")

This unique service offers faculty members an option instead of canceling their classes when circumstances dictate. In the event that a faculty member plans to be off campus or experiences a last minute, unforeseen circumstance, a career services staff member is always ready to be a “substitute” for that class period. Or, perhaps a faculty member simply wants a guest presenter for their class or a student organization they advise. Why not invite a career services staff member to fill in (even at the last minute)? We can bring one of our excellent tailor-made workshops to your students to assist them in considering career choices or sharpening their job searching skills. Or ask us to create a workshop or presentation of your choosing. We'll be happy to accommodate. Call Career Services at 5242 to set up a presentation this semester for your class!

Making seniors think about their future and how OCS can help. Shown in a humorous self-automated, 5-minute Power Point presentation. We can send you this 5-minute presentation and you can show it in class anytime you want.

The Critical First Year on the Job
Helping seniors understand the “do’s” and “don’ts” in their first year on the job.

OCS presentations offer staff members and their offices or departments the opportunity to better understand the career, job searching, and graduate school resources and services made available to students.

▪ Residential Life asks us each year to present to both their Directors and Resident Hall Assistants as part of their training.
▪ The Office of Admissions had us present to their entire staff as well as to prospective students at "Scholars Day."
▪ The Alumni Office invited us to present to the Alumni Board of Directors.
▪ Multicultural Affairs asks us to present important information each year as part of international student orientation.
▪ The Registrar's Office has us present each year to "undeclared students" during first-year orientation.
