Anna Richison, RN
Director of Health Services
Anna Richison earned her RN degree from the University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She practiced as a MedSurg and ER nurse at Parkview Huntington for approximately six years and then was clinic coordinator for Business Health Solutions for eight years. Her experience includes dialysis nursing and psych nursing.
Prior to receiving her RN, she earned an LPN degree from IVY Tech in Ft. Wayne and worked for an internal medicine practice for five years.
Anna lives in Huntington. She is married and has four children, one grandson and another on the way.
Kelly Hippensteel joined Manchester University in January 2005. She had previously worked in human resources for five years and has an associate's degree in accounting. She is also the administrative assistant for Counseling Services.
Student Health Assistants
Health Assistants work under the supervision of the director of health services and are considered part of the student development student staff. Health assistants are expected to live on campus and are expected to participate in a reasonable number of activities on campus. However, this position in health care should be considered the principle out-of-class activity and responsibility. Staff members are expected to maintain good academic standing and a standard of personal conduct commensurate with their responsibilities. A health assistant is on call from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. on weekdays, and from 5 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Monday on the weekends, during which time they must remain on campus. Health assistants are required to understand, follow and sign this statement of confidentiality upon beginning employment with Manchester University Health Services:
I understand that in the course of my employment at Manchester University Health Services, I will be exposed to personal confidential medical information. I realize that this information has been recorded and obtained for the purpose of medical treatment of the patient and is strictly confidential. I shall use the information only in completion of my job responsibilities and will hold it in the most strict confidence. Under no circumstance will I release any information to an unauthorized person. Under no circumstance will I tamper with, alter or destroy confidential information from a medical record within the retention period. I understand that violation of this policy subjects termination of employment.
Kristen Tentler: is a sophomore biology-chemistry major from Pendleton, IN entertaining a career in the medical field. She is still unsure what it is that she wants to do exactly, but knows that she enjoys helping others and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. She is a member of PPS, SAC, and loves playing tennis and volleyball with her friends and family. In her free time she enjoys watching The Office, sleeping, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite movie is Remember the Titans and the best way to her heart is pancakes and Jack Johnson.
Matthew Milmine: is a junior majoring in chemistry with a minor in biology. He is from Highland, Indiana and is pursuing a career in medicine. His love for working with children and people in general has led him toward becoming a pediatrician, but he also has interests in possibly being a specialist in the areas of cardiology or pharmacology. He enjoys being active while on campus whenever he has the chance. He is a member of American Chemical Society and Pre-Professionals of Science. In his free time, he enjoys running,
reading, acting, and spending time with close friends and family.
Peter Kowalzcyk: is a senior double majoring in Athletic Training and Excercise Science. As well asbeing a student health assistant, he is also a student athletic trainer. He likes to be involved with on campus activities, spending time with friends and family and working out. When he is not "pumping iron" he loves to play with fluffy bunnies.
Caitlin Kessler:is a sophomore biology-chemistry major from Kokomo, IN, pursuing a career in the medical field. She is currently unsure of the exact path she will take, but her passion for helping others leads her in the desire to become either a physician, physician's assistant, physical therapist, or occupational therapist. Caitlin is involved in a variety of activities here at Manchester, such as A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, Pre-Professionals of Science, andAmerican Chemical Society. In her free time, she enjoys acting,
singing, teaching drama to children,
volunteering with her church and local hospital,
being outdoors, andhanging out with friends.
Peer Health Educator
Elisia (Elli) Ray: is a junior Biology-Chemistry major from Lake Odessa, MI.Her future goalis to attend medical or otesopathic school to become a physician. Her on-campus activities include a membership in American Chemical Society, officer of Pre-Professionals of Science Club and Biological Honorary Society. She likes to spend her free time playing softball, listening to music and spending time with friends. Also, she owns almost every color of flip flops.
