The United Nations is designed in principle to promote international cooperation and to provide means for global problem solving(i.e. human rights abuses, race and ethnic conflict, and economic cooperation) through open communications. One of the most highly visible Manchester graduates, Andrew Cordier, was one of the principal architects of the United Nations.
