Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invited people from all walks of life to work together in partnership to help build houses with families in need. Manchester College's campus chapter, started in 1986 under the direction of Professor Brad Yoder, has played an active part in reaching the goals of "a decent house in a decent community for God's people in need." The campus chapter seeks to provide awareness and action in our campus and community through various fundraisers, raking leaves, day work-camp trips, and participation in Collegiate Challenge during spring break. If you are interested in helping to make a difference and would like to join Habitat, contact Professor Brad Yoder, advisor (x5366).
