Mentoring
Support Groups
The MSG program builds upon three premises:
(1) A student's level of engagement with the College is related to past and perceived future life experiences; (2) Ethnic identity development is an important component to a student's social and academic success and; (3) Students who find social and academic success will most likely enjoy their college experiences. These premises are the basis for this mentoring model. As a mentoring program, MSG offers African American and Hispanic students a network of support that links their college experiences with future expectations. The components of the program include Mentoring Support Groups, Academic Enhancement Instructions and Ethnic Identity Development programming.
