Manchester University Welcome Week 2014

SATURDAY, AUG. 23

8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
A whole new world – Aladdin
Move into your Residence Halls
To begin moving in, please check in at your residence hall front desk to receive your Welcome Week packet and room key.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
Picnic Lunch – Haist Commons, Jo Young Switzer Center

1:30 – 3:15 p.m.
I just need to know where I’m going. It doesn’t matter where I’ve been - Cars
Commuter student orientation – Academic Center
Commuter students hear about issues specific to their college experience.

3:30 – 4:30 p.m. 
It’s a small world after all
Welcome Session - Cordier Auditorium
Hear welcoming remarks from President Dave McFadden, Vice President for Student Development Beth Sweitzer-Riley, as well as the introduction of the Student Orientation Leaders (SOLs). Also, learn more about the traditions and values of your college.

4:30 – 5 p.m. 
The most important thing is even if we’re apart, I will always be with you – Winnie the Pooh
Parent and Family Departure

5 - 6 p.m. 
I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship – Fox and the Hound
SOL group meetings
Meet your SOL group on the Mall for your first SOL group meeting!

Students eat dinner with your SOL group - Don’t forget your Manchester ID!

7:30 p.m.  
You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes – Winnie the Pooh
Residence Hall Social – Residence Halls
Meet your Hall Director (HD), Resident Assistant (RA), and your hall mates.

9 p.m.
