Our goal is to provide the Manchester College community with timely and cost-effective health services in a caring and confidential manner. This will enable students to focus on their education with minimal interruptions from illness or injury.

The Health Center, located on the first floor of Calvin Ulrey Hall, is staffed by a registered nurse and student health assistants. Care is given for minor illnesses and injuries without charge to all registered students and faculty/staff at Manchester College. More serious problems are referred to a local physician, family physician or specialist. The cost of health care beyond that provided by the Health Center is the responsibility of the student or the student's family.

Health education is an important part of the services available to the students. Individualized information pertaining to the specific condition or illness is given to each student who uses Health Services. Patient care is provided on a walk-in or appointment basis. Cause, care, prevention, and after-care are all addressed.

Students may contact Health Services by calling x5306, e-mailing Tara Vogel, or stopping by the office. Care is provided 24-hours every day to residential students. Cause, care, prevention, and after-care are all addressed. The director and the health assistants are also available to provide programs to interested groups upon request.

All full-time students are required to have a completed Health History Form on file with the Health Center. This includes a physical examination certificate and immunization record filled out by both the student and his/her physician. The completed Health History Form must be received by the College prior to the start of classes of the first term of enrollment. All students are required to be covered by health insurance

Manchester College has a detailed policy regarding Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Copies of that policy are available at the Health Center, Office of Residence Life and Student Development Office.
