White Coat Ceremony begins four-year journey
for Manchester University’s first pharmacy students
About 70 students from all over the nation will receive white coats and sign a pledge of professionalism on Thursday, Aug. 9 as they transition to the clinical study of pharmacy at Manchester University. Seating for the White Coat Ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. in Cordier Auditorium on the North Manchester campus. The public is invited.
Delivering the keynote address is Indiana Sen. Ron Grooms of Jeffersonville, a registered pharmacist. Presenting the Pledge of Professionalism is Jeremy Thain, R.Ph., president-elect of the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance.
The students are participating in orientation this week at the College of Pharmacy in Fort Wayne, but will spend all day Thursday on Manchester's North Manchester campus. They begin classes Monday, Aug. 13 in the four-year professional Doctor of Pharmacy program.
