Application

The College of Pharmacy will accept completed applications between

June and March 1 each year. A complete application will consist of

an application through the Pharmacy College Application Service

(PharmCAS) and a Manchester University College of Pharmacy

supplemental application.

  • The Application Cycle for fall 2013 admissions is now closed.

Admissions Process
The Manchester University College of Pharmacy annual admission cycle is as follows:

  • June - PharmCAS opens and interested candidates may access the online application
  • Fall to Spring – Interview days scheduled
  • March 1 - MUCOP Application (=PharmCAS + Supplemental) deadline
  • May – Final Admissions decisions
  • August – Orientation and classes begin for newly admitted class

Minimum requirements
Admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Manchester University is limited and competitive. Please note, meeting all minimum criteria doesn’t guarantee an interview and/or admission to the program.

To be considered for admission:

  • applicants must achieve at least a 2.5 GPA in both cumulative and prerequisite GPAs,
  • no grade below a “C” will count toward prerequisite coursework. All coursework must be completed by the spring prior to fall admission. Summer coursework is not acceptable.
NOTE: a C- does not meet this minimum requirement,
  • applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents, and
  • completion of the PharmCAS and supplemental applications.
  • Three letters of recommendation are required. Recommendations could be provided by pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, science professor, employers or supervisors.
  • Please note: the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is no longer required.

Admission to the professional program of the Manchester University College of Pharmacy is limited and competitive - it is anticipated that the instructional resources available to the College will enable approximately 70 new students each year. For this reason, achieving the minimum prerequisite subject and grade criteria does not guarantee admission. Students should begin the application process one year before their anticipated enrollment in the Manchester University College of Pharmacy.

Application and Interview Evaluation
Once all fees are paid and the complete application (PharmCAS and Manchester Supplemental) has been submitted, the application is processed and ready for evaluation by the Admissions Committee and faculty.  Evaluation determines whether an applicant will be invited for an interview.  Interview days  will be held to continue the evaluation of candidates.  The Manchester University College of Pharmacy uses a rolling admissions process.  Admissions decisions are made for all candidates following each interview date.

Manchester University Students and the Admission Process
Students who complete the pre-pharmacy program at Manchester with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 will be guaranteed an interview for the Doctor of Pharmacy program.  Students with strong records who meet the minimum cumulative and prerequisite GPA requirements of 2.5 will still be considered for admission; however, these students are not guaranteed an interview.  Manchester pre-pharmacy students will benefit from opportunities to interact with COP faculty and staff both in North Manchester and Fort Wayne.

International Students and the Admissions Process
Only international students completing the Manchester University pre-pharmacy program and meeting the minimum admission criteria will be considered for admission into the Manchester University College of Pharmacy.  Non-U.S. coursework is not accepted at this time to fulfill prerequisite coursework requirements.  However, though international coursework doesn’t meet the prerequisite requirements, all transcripts (including international) must still be submitted to PharmCAS.  For information regarding Manchester University International Student admissions, please visit: http://www.manchester.edu/admissions/admissions/international.htm.   Any other questions, please contact 260-470-2700 | pharmacy@manchester.edu.
