They assist in a variety of campus visit programs, interview days, and facility tours throughout the academic year. Please read the profiles below to learn more about this year’s group!

AlH

Al, Class of 2017
Fort Wayne, In.

What made you most nervous before starting the program?
I was really nervous about how I would adjust to a professional program and how well I would do in each of my classes.

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of Manchester University College of Pharmacy?
My favorite thing about being a part of MUCOP is that everyone who is a part of this program is like my extended family. Due to the small class sizes it is easy to get to know your fellow classmates, students in the other classes, the professors, as well as the other faculty members.

What do you wish you had known prior to starting classes here?
I wish I would have known how intense a professional program was actually going to be. Pharmacy school is a completely different ball game compared to undergrad and there is a huge learning curve that we all had to adjust to.

Andrea

Andrea, Class of 2016

I was most nervous about the intensity of the program and whether or not my prerequisites would prepare me for pharmacy school.

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of Manchester University College of Pharmacy?
I love the small classroom size and how friendly the faculty is. Also, I love how our class consists of students from all over the country. I feel like it makes us even closer because we’re not all from around the Fort Wayne area.

What do you wish you had known prior to starting classes here?
I wish I had a chance to get to know people in my class earlier so I could have known a few familiar faces at the beginning of school.

AndreaH

Andrea, Class of 2016

Why did you choose Manchester University College of Pharmacy?
I chose MUCOP because I liked the close relationship you can have with the teachers along with their competitive program.  I went to MU for undergrad and love it there and I knew the COP would be just as good of a fit for me!

The small class sizes allow for one-on-one interaction between the students and the faculty allowing for a very interactive learning experience.

What area of pharmacy is most interesting to you?
I am most interested in hospital pharmacy with the hopes to concentrate in one area of medicine.  My concentration though is not yet made up.  I hope to explore these throughout my four years of pharmacy school.

AshleyW

Ashley, Class of 2016

What made you most nervous before starting the program?
I was more excited, but nervous too, I guess. The day I found out I was accepted into the program I was out of state on a business trip for Weaver Popcorn and had just set a wedding date for that summer. The logistics seemed overwhelming at first but this is a field I have always been interested in and had applied and aimed for.

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of Manchester University College of Pharmacy?
I love being part of a new, growing, innovative program. The educational experiences I have been taught and exposed to are a great foundation to this broad healthcare career. I also appreciate the professionalism from staff and taught to students. My picture was used as a school promotion on a Ft. Wayne billboard along I-69, a symbol I was a part of MUCOP and excel to live up to!!

What do you wish you had known prior to starting classes here?
I should have known to "pre-review" all the physiology and biology I had in my pre-pharmacy classes!!
