The projected playground - semester goal $20,000 |
The Project Playground Mission
The mission of Project Playground is to raise money for playground equipment while providing educational and recreational activities. Project Playground believes in the existence of a well-developed education, being a positive role model, and promoting a child’s overall well being.
About Project Playground
The project is an assignment for the Nonprofit Management class at Manchester College. The Manchester students have decided to develop a program to benefit Manchester Elementary School. Specifically, students have agreed to volunteer and to raise $20,000 for the purchase of new playground equipment. Principal Bonnie Ingraham initiated fundraising for a new playground on her own, and while she has successfully raised funds, there is still a long way to go. We hope to contribute a significant amount from the activities of Project Playground.
"Manchester College is well known for its participation in not-for-profit ventures, and I am grateful for our opportunity as a class to contribute to the College’s philanthropic aspirations. We chose to sponsor Manchester Elementary School in order to benefit a cause within the North Manchester community. Our mission centers on the children’s social and educational development, and we hope to achieve this through working directly with them, as well as raising revenue to assist in the purchase of much-needed, new playground equipment." - Stephanie Moore, Executive Director, Project Playground |
