I have taught at three other schools in my almost three decades of teaching. And I can honestly say that Manchester is my favorite place to teach. All of the students I’ve taught here have something in common: a spark, a work ethic and a sense of community that they themselves create. They enjoy learning, appreciate life in all its many facets, and do their best every single time they try.

Dr. Marcia L. Benjamin
Professor of Communication Studies

Get the whole picture.

Manchester College students stand out with their critical thinking skills and solid oral and written communications. Take it from accounting graduate, Tiffany Portz, who transferred to Manchester, specifically for the accounting program:

“Manchester is incredible at developing students’ writing skills - plus abstract thinking and presentation skills - those are so valuable. And likely those skills are what helped four of us in accounting win third place at the Indiana CPA Case Study Competition, beating out some bigger schools like Notre Dame and Indiana University.”

Dig deeper. Ask the right questions. Write clearly. Argue persuasively. These are the things you’ll learn at Manchester from the beginning - in interdisciplinary classes, foundation courses and through programs offered by the Success Center.

71 points of excellence.

The 71 faculty members of Manchester College are passionate about their disciplines and committed to their students. In short, they are the Manchester difference.

  • 88 percent of Manchester courses are taught by full-time faculty.
  • The student-to-faculty ratio is 14 to 1.
  • 57 percent of faculty members have studied or lived abroad.
  • 82 percent of full-time faculty hold Ph.D.s or the highest degree in their fields.
Go green.
Manchester College is leading the way with innovative programs that raise awareness of environmental issues. Go green and take part in student-run recycling efforts. Explore woodland, wetland and prairie areas at the 100-acre Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center. Get involved in our environmental studies program - one of the first in the country. And when you graduate, pin a green ribbon on your gown showing that you’ve taken the Graduation Pledge and have made a lasting commitment to social and environmental issues.
