January Sessions
During Manchester’s January session, you’re free to expand your horizons. Take a class in something completely different. Find an internship. Or, choose an off-campus course or service project. Every year has its own possibilities. You might learn Tai Chi or offer medical help in Nicaragua, or practice your French in Paris.

Manchester College connects students with travel and study opportunities around the world. In fact, 43 percent of 2006 graduating seniors had studied abroad during their four years, either for a semester, a full academic year or during a January session. Compare that with the national average for U.S. students studying abroad of less than 1 percent.
Go to myplace.manchester.edu. You’ll meet students who have studied in Greece, explored England, learned Spanish in Mexico and played soccer in Australia. And that’s just a start.

Doing it all and staying on course.
At Manchester, taking advantage of opportunities doesn’t mean taking longer to graduate. Just ask Tim Polakowski, Class of 2008:
“I was able to get a double major and a minor, study abroad for a year, take an internship in Chicago—and complete it all in four years, with just two summer courses. I also took two Habitat for Humanity trips and went to Mexico this past January. The school has been awesome in helping me through everything. Manchester has so many opportunities!” |
