Funds to build the observatory were provided by family, friends and former students.

Morris matriculated at Manchester College in Sept. 1908, probably in a normal teaching training program,  then taught in public school.  He returned to Manchester College and graduated with his degree.

Morris' first wife was a Manchester College alumna.

Archivist Note

Transfer from magnetic tape to CD-R September 2010 by Stan Pittman's department. Wave sound digital file created from reel-to-reel magnetic tape in 2015 by MU Department of Information Technology Services.  The tape was then discarded by Jeanine Wine on 1 January 2016 because the best possible copy had been made and the tape would only undergo deterioration.

Description prepared 13 January 2011 by Jeanine M. Wine.
