Bio History NoteThe American Council on Education Student Information Form was given to all freshmen entering the college in September. The freshmen answered questions like:

1.  19 years of age / 19 years of age.

2.  White/Caucasian  /  Black/Afro-American

3.  Rel. Preference - Protestant  /  Roman Catholic   /  None

4.  Father's Occupation - Businessman  /  Skilled worker  / Semi-skilled or unskilled  /  Farmer or forester  / Teacher (Elem thru College)  /   Clergy.

5.  Father's Education

6.  Mother's Education

7.  Parental Income

Reason for selecting MC, Distance from Home to MC, Number of College Applications, Current Political Preference, Get Married While in College, and

Agree strongly or somewhat:  Gov't not controlling pollution, too many rights for criminals, marijuana should be legalized, discourage large families, women should get job equality, college has right to ban speaker, etc.

The results were tallied by year and compared:.

Characteristics of Freshmen Entering Manchester College in 1977 comparing those with 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, and 1975.

Characteristics of Freshmen Entering Manchester College in 1979 and comparing those with 1977, 1975, 1973, 1972, 1971 and 1970.

The same was done for Freshmen entering the college in 1982, 1983, 1984

 

A Freshman Class Profile is included for 1966, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984.

It shows information such as church affiliation, CEEB Scholastic Aptitude Test Scores (Verbal and Math, Male and Female), Rank in High School Class, Per Cent Above Percentile Rank for Males and Females, Math SAT Score, Verbal SAT Score, Total SAT Score, Size of High School Class, State or Country,
