Bio History Note

It is not know why these cards were placed next to the door to the Archives.  At first glance it appears that it might be for information related to the May 1938 graduation.  The speaker for the May 30th Commencement  was L. A. Pittenger, President of Ball State Teachers College.   At second glance one reads handwritten notes on the verso that describes decisions one makes when building a house.  This is undated. Were these little invitation cards used as scrappaper for writing notes?  Some examples from these notes follow:

Fixtures

1. Clay - finished is vitrous china.

2. Iron - pig iron cast then enameled.

20 years ago - colored fixtures

10% total cost of home - bathroom.

Clay more expensive.  Roughing in material:

faucets piping, etc., brass plated with chromium vitrous china will break , enamel will chip off, enameled iron.

1/3 of sales are colored fixtures.  Colored fixtures cost 35% more than the white.
