Scope and Content

Laura Shock donated a Chines Bible to Manchester College Library on 25 January 1923.  The Archivist believes that this is the same Laura Shock that grauduated from Manchester College in 1916.

Bio History Note

The description on the right inside cover is handwritten by Laura Shock and reads:

"A Chinese Bible in the colloquial Mandarin style.  Presented by Laura Shock."

The Bible was printed by the American Bible Society, Shanghai, 1919, Mandarin Bible, Union Version.

More research is needed to determine if Laura was a Church of the Brethren missionary to China.
