Bio History Note

The church, Second Church of the Brethren, South Bend, Indiana,  finally closed because of lack of attendance.

Donn Kesler was born in 1927, baptized in 1938, and he attended until he went to Manchester College in 1947 – 1951…when he graduated with a BS degree.

Mr. Kesler went with the Seagoing Cowboys in 1947 to China and then to New Zealand and picked up sheep and took those back to China.  He was gone about 4 months.  He was waiting for the next fall term at Manchester in order to start college.  He started in the fall of 1947.

Donn says the Studebakers that donated the lot for the church were the same Studebakers that had the car and carriage company.
