Guesthouse in Schwarzenau, Germany, bill for food, circa September 23, 1957.

1. One invoice from the Gasthof Roser in Schwarzenau, Germany, circa September 23, 1957(?).

Date of Accession22 April 2009
Bio History Note

Gasthof Roser owned by WIlli Zunkeler

It appears to the Archivist that this is a bill for submitted to the guest(s) (illegible name) for food purchased by a party of 5.  There is 5 x Fruhstuck (breakfast), 5 x Eier (eggs), 4 Apfel (apples), etc.  The name of B. Miller might be made out on line three.

Schwarzenau, Germany is the birthplace of the Church of the Brethren and a much toured spot by the Brethren groups. Since this was included in the Ida, Edith and Bertha Miller collection, it might have been a pilgrimage made by one of their family.
