Bio History Note

Vernon F. Schwalm writes a Foreword for this volume.  Excerpts follow:

In the spring of 1944 the faculty of Manchester College presented two series of Chapel addresses.  One series had to do with student problems and the aims of the college; the other series had to do with world problems.....We are hoping that they may be of value to future generations of college students and also to the historian of the future who will be interested in knowing what faculty members and others had to say to their students in the year of our lord, 1944.
