The grandson and his family came from California to research his grandfather in 1996. 6. Picture with Carl Merritt at Disneyworld on Manchester College's anniversary year, 26 January 1989. The College jazz band played at Disneyworld and also at various gatherings of Manchester College alumni chapters. Ferne narrated a special anniversary slide program at these alumni functions and the jazz band performed at them as well.
